No info, but I'd have to think he could be a silent that just wants to tell Purdue in person before he makes the switch.

The way his recruitment has gone I would say that it is likely what you are suggesting. He seems to be a very thoughtful kid and wants to do the right thing for him but be gracious in doing so. I have zero problem with the way he is handling this.

He spoke to Lazard this week. They both realize what ND is. Lazard has family connections and the opportunity to be a hometown hero. Tranquill has his word and the chance to be starter from day one. Tranquill could also be a hometown hero there. Nobody at ND gives a shits that he is from IN.

With our lack of MLB depth, he's gotta chance to start once he gets his weight up. Not only start, but start for a major football program that wins.

The fact that Drue is still visiting Purdue is amazing. Making an easy decision so much more difficult than it needs to be. This sounds very homer, but it's the truth

We don't know there circumstances with him and Purdue. I don't know but my guess is that he told them since he is a Purdue commit that he would give them the last visit and IMO that's the fair thing to do.

He can visit there and come to the final conclusion and tell them in person that he's a slid commit to them or he that he is going to commit to ND an do it face to face out of respect.

I am not gonna worry until news is other than what we heard leading up to the visit. I get what you are saying though, it may be a good thing. He may be all in already just gotta wait it out.

I'm 90% sure the number is 23 if they take 4 fifth year seniors. After last night there may be fewer fifth year seniors than that...

thanks pops. I get you're feeling with the 5th year situation especially if we are in it with some studs (Mama, Juju, Bo, whomever else). Glad to hear we have enough spots to get these guys if a lot of them want in.

Personally, I'm not too concerned with Drue. His recruitment isn't going to make me feel one way or another. If he was Nyles Morgan and deciding between Purdue and ND, I'd be freaking out, but Drue is a 2-3 year project IMO at LB. If he's a safety, he doesn't have great speed and missing out on another Farley/Collinsworth isn't going to break my spirits.

If he wants to be part of this class, great because he could play a couple of sport, but I won't lose sleep if he isn't.

Speaking of McKenzie, 247 and other services are yet to acknowledge him as part of the class. I think we'll jump up a spot or two once they do.
