USC Recruiting Weekend

I'm really trying not to get my hopes up with Elam because I think he loves Kentucky. But I mean, staying extra night and paying out of pocket when you have a free ride home? Sounds like he's really going to hear us out. And our coaches can sell ice to an Eskimo.

Any report on Nyles?

Are any of the ND commits staying with the recruits until tomorrow? Thinking it could help with the recruiting by building some sort of camaraderie.

Unless Luatua counts then I don't think so. All the info this morning is about the uncommitted guys so I can't be sure.

[Grumble at '16 recruiting] ND made a huge impression on a huge '16 OL Thiyo Lukusa (he's a 300 lb sophomore). He already has the coveted Michigan State offer and is receiving interest from other B1G schools like PSU, Michigan, and Northwestern.

If someone tells me which forum to place a 2016 thread, I will make a profile and do a full summary of this: 2016 OL Enjoys ND Trip

This guy would be the biggest shock of them all to me. It's funny too because he probably starts day one he steps foot on campus. It sounds like his parents are really pushing this so you never know.

The fact that Drue is still visiting Purdue is amazing. Making an easy decision so much more difficult than it needs to be. This sounds very homer, but it's the truth

Yeah that's kind of my point. I hope the visit opened his eyes and he sees the opportunity that is waiting for him. I really think he would fit right in and enjoy himself and be very successful.

Like I've been guessing for months, I think we've got a better shot at Elam than most thought and don't see him at Kentucky. I think that's reinforced with how well the visit is going. I think if we keep winning that we get him. I'd be more worried about 'Bama... but I'm not even sure how much 'Bama is putting on the full court press. I don't know enough about them.

At the end of the day, local pressure can only do so much. And unless Kentucky hands out giant bags 'o cash there is no reason to go there. ND offers all the immediate playing time he wants and for great coaches that developed Nix and a superior education. I'm just not afraid of Kentucky. As long as we give him a reason to come here (re: winning program that can compete for championships + immediate PT) we should be on par from a football aspect with any SEC school. Then the question becomes social/academic fit of the school. Looks like so far so good on that front.

No info, but I'd have to think he could be a silent that just wants to tell Purdue in person before he makes the switch.

He spoke to Lazard this week. They both realize what ND is. Lazard has family connections and the opportunity to be a hometown hero. Tranquill has his word and the chance to be starter from day one. Tranquill could also be a hometown hero there. Nobody at ND gives a shits that he is from IN.

I hope that's the case. But lets say it's not, I just don't know why he needs to visit Purdue again. It seems like he's been there 23423 times. What is he gonna get out of this Purdue visit? It just frustrates me
