I think Jack Sears is done at USC. 6’3” 205lb 2nd year QB who has plenty of talent should be able to transfer and have 3 seasons left of eligibility if he leaves now. Doesn’t make sense to wait around for JT to depart cause he’s gonna be QB1 until he leaves for the NFL in 3 seasons. Matt Fink I expect will stay and then grad transfer after two seasons to somewhere where he can start. I think Sears will and probably should get out of town. Top 100 QB’s transfer all the time and I think it’s the right move here if he wants to play a little unless he’s comfortable starting as a RS SR

We want SC to lose to Stanford this week, right? That way Stanford is still highly ranked for the end of the month while SC can run the table and have a good ranking in the game 12 showdown?

I'm pulling for USC because I cheer against Stanford in every game. Stanford ceasing to be competitive is far more important to the future of ND than any particular year's SoS argument. A mediocre Stanford would be a huge boon to ND. As it stands right now, a non-catholic kid focused on academics and winning football has an obvious choice. It used to be ND. It probably isn't anymore.

+1.

We're going head to head with Stanford right now for Cornelius (WR) and Walter Rouse. ISD thinks Stanford still leads for Cornelius after his visit this weekend to ND. There are probably others too, but these are 2 guys who are literally down to Stanford/ND as we speak.

This is just an example - we lose ~2-3 guys each year that we have a legit chance at.

I don't think we have that much of a chance with the guys we lose to USC. Sometimes I always questions how closer we really are.

Stanford can go 0-12 for all I care, I'm not worried about our SOS, especially when we play both teams.

We always want Stanford to lose. They are a recruiting PITA.

It's a toss up for me.

We lose some recruits to Stanford, but it was pointed out to me recently on this forum that we win the recruiting war as much as Stanford does when it's down to ND or Stanford.

Stanford......Sounds like a car made back in the 50's. The new Buick Stanford comes in two models, sedan and convertible.

I get a lot of satisfaction out of seeing both teams lose - this game guarantees I see one of them lose so - must see TV if you ask me,

Yup. Stanford is the only other school who threatens our recruiting niche. They need to return to mediocrity ASAP.

USC nearly lost that game with Washington St. Would have been a shame, starting 1-3 looks good on them...but maybe 2-2 means Clay Helton gets to stick around a little longer.

WSU had that game in the bag and totally blew it.

battle of the QBs tonite in l.a.

qb jt daniels, wr vaughn, wr st. brown played well
they will only get better by game #12 for us in late november
usc has talent---

the wsu qb played well too---a long journey for him--his 4th team
since h.s. ---he sees his route options and progressions well
the pirate gets more out of his roster everywhere he coaches

Must be nice for USC. They really suck and if they played a semi-difficult schedule, they'd likely be a 5-7 or 4-8 team.

But no, they could very realistically finish 8-4 or 7-5. We are, far and away, the best team remaining on their schedule, and I don't think #2 is even close.

That's not even a testament to how good we are, that just shows how bad the Pac-12 really is.

Bru McCoy might not be a USC lock anymore. 2 CBs coming in for Texas today after their big win. I'll assume he was at the game.

Former USC safety Bubba Bolden reveals reason he left the Trojans

A day after the USC football team officially removed Bubba Bolden from its roster, saying he was no longer enrolled at the school, Bolden posted an explanation for his departure on his Instagram account, ending weeks of speculation about his unexplained absence from the team.

Bolden won the starting job in August after Senior safety Ykili Ross transferred. The same week Helton announced Bolden would not play the season opener due to a “personal matter” with no announcements as to the matter since then. Redshirt freshman Isaiah Pola-Mao took over the starting duties for two weeks until a shoulder injury ended his season. Freshman Talanoa Hafunga has won the starting job following two impressive performances against Washington State and Arizona. RS Soph C.J. Pollard is listed as backup for both FS and SS.

Against Power 5 competition (4 games so far) USC's pass defense ranks 74th nationally with 248 yds per game.

So he was suspended for underage drinking and trash talking? That's his side of it, but the party goers said they felt threatened which is why they reported it? Something doesn't seem to add up. It seems like Bolden is taking the high road and admits to making a mistake, seems like a very intelligent guy. I'm just surprised with the punishment given the crime.

That is a huge loss. I can't believe his college career is already over; I remember when Notre Dame was recruiting him. He could be a good one in the NFL, but I'm sure teams will be diving deep into his injury history.

the guy never had a hamburger or soda in his life and is an amazing athlete but just can't seem to stay healthy. Gotta wonder did his dad push him too hard in his physical training during his youth or something.
