Any update on these three guys? Are they officially gone?

It seems they also lost another versatile jumbo athlete in Christian Thomas... at least he isn't on the roster any more and 24 hours later you think someone would've confirmed if he was still with the team.

None of this is "official" yet though.

that's 2 TE's. Pomee was 4th on the depth chart. Doesn't look like Thomas even sniffed the pine.

How many will they field for spring practice? Long live kiffy at troy. That's right neither kiffy nor troy are capitalized. They are not proper nouns.

So Pomee is not on the team ("for now") but I guess could (and will?) be brought back if possible. The fact that someone charged with 5 felonies is still enrolled at their school is laughable. Like, seriously pathetic. USC < Alabama? USC < Alabama. By a lot.

This means USC probably has something like 65-68 true scholarship players on the roster this year. If they have normal attrition through spring ball they could be playing with 60 guys coming into the fall.

Just keeps getting better and better. Breaks my heart!! One of my favorite employees and best friends is a USC grad. You know it's bad when now I feel guilty making fun of USC. She's just miserable. So, since I can't do it in front of her anymore,,,,

Lane Kiffin said three players will miss spring due to injury: Dion Bailey, Gerald Bowman and Scott Starr

Lots of rotation on the USC o-line today: M. Tuerk at C, J Simmons and J Martinez sharing reps at RG, A Walker and C Wheeler at LT. #wearesc

Since I forgot to cancel my USC 24/7 access, I guess I can provide updates on their spring practice for the enxt month.

-The defense primarily played today was a 5-2, with Breslin and Kennard at DE, and Antwaun Woods was in between George Uko and Leonard Williams.

-Leon McQuay III had some reps at CB and struggled.

-Justin Davis was very impressive.

-Helton calling plays instead of Kiffin

Pat Haden has interviewed Tim Floyd as a potential Head Coach for the U$C Basketball team. Yes, the same Tim Floyd who resigned one year before the old A.D. Garrett was fired and the school was placed on NCAA probation for lack of institutional control in the Football and Basketball Departments. He has maintained his innocence in what happened with O.J. Mayo and the basketball program.

ND Baseball 2 to 1 over USC today....

ND Baseball 2 to 1 over USC today....

got done with work early today and drove out to SC to watch the Irish Baseball team play USC....the Irish are out west playing in the Dodgers Classic....(played UCLA last night and lost 2 to 1 in 10 innings)

the Irish fell behind early 1 to 0 and then tied with a Home Run - 1 to 1

then the Irish manufactured a run and took a 2 to 1 lead going into the bottom of the 9th...

SC had men on the corners with 1 out and then lined a bunt to the pitcher for a 2nd out and then threw to 3rd for a forced out and the Irish won the game 2 to 1...

love the turnout of Irish fans at the game...

He's fine...he wanted to go back in but Kiffin wouldn't let him.

Wittek said he was fine also, although his knee was wrapped and he wasn't up jogging like Lee was.

No, they didn't. It was their first scrimmage after a week of practice.

Wittek was injured while serving as the holder during a kicking drill. As he stood to try to pick up a ball that was snapped low, another player rolled up on his leg.

Wittek said he would probably have an MRI exam but expected to return this week.

Meantime, Kessler completed 12 of 15 passes for 192 yards and Browne passed for the only touchdown during the 52-play scrimmage that was dominated by the defense.

I've taken a good bit of time following sports since shortly after signing day...

Any word on how USC's 2014 class is looking?

It's EAAAAAARRRRLY, but they have 2 outstanding o-linemen already, plus another O-lineman that I personally think they reached on but he's a 4 star (suddenly with his committment to USC) and will be a project that may turn out great. But one of their studs, Casey Tucker out of AZ, is already saying he's going to take visits, so he's FAAARRRRRR from a real 'commit' to them.

Other than that they got a 3 star/unranked DT that people were surprised when he got an offer cause he's on the short side and he needs a lot of work (he committed on the spot). He's the teammate of an incredible talent named M. Quick that the whole world is recruiting including ND, so that could have been part of the reason.

They're putting out tons of offers to OOS kids and slowly offering local kids. Because they got such a small class his year, if they get enough EE's, they can take 20 kids, so if they have a good year they'll get a really good class. The problem is with Kiffin as a lame-duck coach, can they have a good year? They have a cake schedule but they will be playing a brand new QB and their roster will be woefully thin if they sustain any injuries, which is inevitable.
