Well it's not only that. How could Kelly possibly justify bringing this kid in to Notre Dame admissions after he's been kicked out of a CATHOLIC high school for egregious and inappropriate comments on twitter. There's just no way ND would allow it. Colorado is desperate.

Even more basic than that, how can you justify bringing someone in that acts like an idiot when he is supposed to be putting his best foot forward to impress you? And to the apologists, don't give me "he's 18"--even a 5 year old knows that you don't act up around Christmas or you risk getting coal.

I don't wish him ill, and in fact I hope he uses this as a learning experience. But I don't think ND was a good fit for him--he doesn't seem to take kindly to people telling him what to do. And ND doesn't take kindly to people who don't take kindly to that situation...

I like the vintage south park reference at the end. "we don't take kindly to people who don't take kindly around here." That aside, I wholeheartedly agree. I have made my share of mistakes and I'm sure we all have. I'm sure ND would be a great place for him. But it's just a fact of life that when you screw up often you will miss out on opportunities and some doors may close for you. Again these are lessons I've learned first hand. You move on and learn to be a better man for it.

I still hate Colorado for the 91' Orange Bowl.

I was 11, at Disney World with my family and my pops and I stayed at the hotel to watch the game instead of going to Universal or whatever..

Broke our damn hearts that day.

Well this didn't fit my theory at all.

So your record stays perfect.

You really need to get a basic understanding of UND. People have tried to explain many times but you continually chose to ignore the obvious. Yeatman, Fauria, Powers-Neal, Floyd, Stonebreaker, ... ND Admissions, du Lac, ResLife. This is Notre Dame not PS 12.

I was 10 years old and it still hurts me to this day...Raghib will always be my favorite!

Oh the pain. Thanks I had almost forgotten about that one, and now the pain returns. I was living in Colorado at the time and had to watch that game in a bar in Estes Park with about 100 Buff fans. That sucked

I know some CU grads. They were basically on all 6 years they were there. I'm not surprised CU wanted him still. Those fans (hippies) will b far more forgiving than our fanbase. Good fit for him IMO. Good luck Yuri we'll be watching.

I'm happy for Yuri that he found a soft landing place. I hope he makes the most of this chance.

Good luck, Yuri.

Good luck to Yuri. Really wish twittergate never happened and he was Irish.

Still can't believe how some disgruntled scUM fans screwed this kid over.

Hoping he does well and glad he found a place to land. Kids do stupid things. What he did,,, no excuse, very very stupid, and calls his character into question.......but he didn't beat anyone up, he didn't drive drunk putting others at risk, he didn't steal.... So in my mind, he deserves a second chance as much as anyone else. Something like this should not ruin someone for life... Some of the scUM fans are unbelievable... Could be the wake up call that changes his life for the better. This all assumes however he recognizes the need for change, and puts forth the effort to change.

Good Luck Yuri!

PS: The feeling of not being able to catch your breath and the pain in your lungs from running at altitude only last about 3 or 4 months.

And now it's safe for me to report that ND was no longer an option Yuri Wright. Apologies for dodging the question. Hope it all works out.

Have people seen this? Sapp interview with Shumate. According to Shumate, we were totally getting Yuri till twittergate. Shumate and Wright left their visit to ND talking about how fun it was going to be to play at ND together. The 2012 class is still a good one but some of these near misses are maddening.

Still bummed we wouldn't take him. He had some issues on a social networking site. It's something that can be corrected with some good mentors and leaders. After seeing some of the Michigan recruits tweets, his weren't worse by any means.
