Yay, more videos of dirt being moved aroumd in fast motion lol.
I want to see greeeeeen!
I was under the impression that other schools lowered the playing surface when they put in turf. This added capacity and noise levels. Any word if the field will be lower?

"Notre Dame Stadium
The Irish are slowly changing the perception of their stadium being the most old-school venue in the sport, but no one can deny it's an unbelievably cool place to watch a game. While the long grass is gone and "Crazy Train" and Dropkick Murphys get played way too much, there are still plenty of must-see traditions to take in. With Touchdown Jesus overlooking the House that Rockne Built, this is one fantastic place to watch a game."
As Notre Dame switches to plastic grass and Under Armour, Penn State is among dwindling list of college football traditionalists | PennLive.com
Hilariously self-righteous, chest-thumping PSU writer on ND's FieldTurf and UA contract. Because when people hear "Penn State," they think "tradition." Right.
I wouldn't have voted for it but I don't hate it.
A friend just texted me that his uncle got a tour of the construction and said that the lines in the end zone are being replaced with text reading "Notre Dame" and "Fighting Irish." If true--he's a huge OSU fan who could be fucking with me but I sincerely doubt it--then I'm pretty damn dissapointed in ND.
Sorry if that had already been confirmed or not.
Maybe we can put gold shoed unicorns in one endzone... and leprechaun statue made of potatoes in the other.
To elaborate...
My position has always been that if an update to the stadium improves the quality of play or helps recruiting I'm all for it. But with something like this, I doubt it has any measurable positive impact on recruiting. I would have preferred we kept the old design so we differentiate ourselves from other schools as much as possible.
That being said, it will probably look cool and doesn't affect my life much either way so whatever.
I'm hardcore anti-turf but I could dig the endzone paint if they use this font:
![]()
They also better keep it "Fighting" Irish, with the "g". I really really hate all the "Fightin' Irish" stuff.
But we all gonna watch the freakin game. So who cares.
