I’ll eat chipotle before I ever step food in an Applebees. That all comes out of plastic containers. None of that crap is fresh. A little hyperbole but not much.Maybe some of us hold Applebees in a higher regard? Don't judge. I could have been mean and said Chipotle.
You come back to IE just to do this to us?You fellas realize this makes Tommy Rees the presumptive frontrunner for next Notre Dame head football coach, right?
I'm not wrong. You come back to IE just to do this to us?
Yes you are, after y’all spineless trolls jump to another teams banner Tommy will destroy legacies and y’all will crawl back to a closed gate,……. Enjoy the hun raidI'm not wrong.
Top coordinator position in the country, Notre Dame guy, and he'll be free from any stank if things go bad under Freeman.I’ll bite. In what way does this make Tommy the presumptive frontrunner for next coach at ND?
I’d say if things go south with Freeman no way they go with another young, player friendly, 1st time head coach.Top coordinator position in the country, Notre Dame guy, and he'll be free from any stank if things go bad under Freeman.
1. If MF and TR have been honest with recruits about his potential to leave, this is a non-story.
2. Smart career move for TR. As soon as MF was named head coach, the writing was on the wall for TR. He had to move.
3. Anybody who thinks a top offensive mind isn’t salivating at this opportunity has had too many glass half empty cocktails.
4. An opportunity to run an offense for a defensive minded head coach with a CFP caliber offense with Sam Hartman at the helm? Hell yes.
5. If ND can’t survive TR leaving, there are bigger issues at hand. (breaking news…they can and they will be just fine)

He'll learn to recruit under Saban, that's for sure. That's job #1... and #2... and... well, you get the idea. When Mal Moore hired him, Saban famously said, "You got yourself a shit coach, but nobody will outrecruit me." Tommy's about to get a crash course in recruiting like a boss. He'd also have learned the famous Saban System™
I’m happy to clear out the last remaining stinch of Kelly! Hope he never comes back!
Well, this has been an odd day with Tommy leaving ND to become Saban's OC at my alma mater. Keep in mind that this is just business. The coaching profession is a business that transcends school ties and emotional connections. This is their career. I've told this story before, but it bears repeating. In '85 I got a chance to talk with then Auburn coach Pat Dye. I said to him, "You played at Georgia and you were an assistant under Bear at Alabama for several years. When you play those schools do you ever have any conflict or mixed emotions or anything?" He bellowed, "HELL NO! They don't pay me a dime to win games there!" It's just business to them. I'm sure Tommy loves ND, but he's doing what he feels is best for his career.
I hope in true ND fashion, he creates in the first quarter of their opener against Clary Sage College. Will TT create a "Fire Tommy Rees" thread on the Bama board?
Tommy went to Bama. Can some catch me up on the important posts on the last 10+ pages?
Tommy to Bama- can you blame him? He obviously wants to grow and I think eventually become a HC. Bama coordinators don't last there long because of their success.
In his 3 years as an OC here at ND I think last year was his only full time spot as our OC, I think Kelly had a hand in calling the offensive plays his first 2 years.
The timing hurts, but in Freeman I trust. Things I've read are about ND keeping Harry Hiestand and the recruits.
I give Tommy Rees a B during his time here at ND as an OC. Saban saw something.
I am excited to see who Freeman brings in.
So......the norm. Thanks appreciate it.Tommy went to Bama.
A variety of opinions were had.
@Irishman77 felt some type of way.
Wizards came back!
O/U on how long it takes TTT and Bishop to create a “Fire Tommy” thread on a Bama board.
Beau knowsI want to make it abundantly clear to all my fans and constituents that I never leave any cocktail half empty...I always finish 'em.
does this mean there are now 2 T-Town Tommys?
I been spending the better part of the last 12 hours trying to make them understand it’s “Rees” and not “Reese. “Will TT create a "Fire Tommy Rees" thread on the Bama board?
If you really want to have fun with it.I been spending the better part of the last 12 hours trying to make them understand it’s “Rees” and not “Reese. “
All I got back was “Mobile Homers better than Golden Domers.”
I got my work cut out on this one.
