Can some catch me up on the important posts on the last 10+ pages?

Tommy to Bama- can you blame him? He obviously wants to grow and I think eventually become a HC. Bama coordinators don't last there long because of their success.

In his 3 years as an OC here at ND I think last year was his only full time spot as our OC, I think Kelly had a hand in calling the offensive plays his first 2 years.

The timing hurts, but in Freeman I trust. Things I've read are about ND keeping Harry Hiestand and the recruits.

I give Tommy Rees a B during his time here at ND as an OC. Saban saw something.

I am excited to see who Freeman brings in.
Rees sucked. He cost us two losses this year. Lord I hope he never comes back to ND. Just because he might win a Natty at Bama doesn't mean he is a worthy OC or next ND HC. But ND will likely bring him back someday.... its the ND way to screw things up.

Top coordinator position in the country, Notre Dame guy, and he'll be free from any stank if things go bad under Freeman.

Pete Golding's on line one wondering why he didn't get the LSU job after 4 years as Bama's DC.... or any HC gig for that matter.

Bama's a Wonka Golden Ticket for the right guys, not every guy.

Glad to see your fonts Wiz!

I remember a Turnover Tommy as much as Touchdown Tommy. Just hope for someone who has the character of Freeman. I like confidence not arrogance.

Rees was a noodle arm statue pos of a qb and it got worse when he tried to recruit or develop anyone.

If you want to suck his pole for his ability to call a play whatever .

I can’t stop smiling this douche is finally gone!!!!

We are going to finally going to win it all.

Go Irish!!!!
We understood your position after your first post. Go have a beer and celebrate.

Rees didn’t suck. I’m formally asking you to take your unrealistic expectations of perfection to a different board.

You and a few of the douchebags at NDNation would probably get along famously.

This is nothing more than a way for Rees to officially adult up from Tommy to Tom. It was never going to happen at ND. Some of you are way over thinking this.

If they start calling him Thomas you might be onto something.
The south is notoriously lazy though.
Rees will be Tommy Reese his entire time in the burnt rubber capitol of America.

Along with a competing "Tommy Rees walks on water" thread, then bounce back and forth between them from drive to drive. TTT & I have learned how to play the game during our time here. :D
Do it on tigerdroppings so I can at least engage. Lol

Apparently Bill Rees is tight with a Bama administrator and he backchanneled the move on Tommy's behalf. I'm not sure he will be welcomed back to ND even if he wants to be....
Lol. This is satire right? I want to be certain of what I'm reading here. Not only was Tommy not near the top of their list, now it was Bill Rees who set up the meeting with Bama behind the scenes and he's a pariah now? Tommy won't be welcomed back or Bill? Or both?

Oh, HELL NO! That'll never fly. We'll burn him at the stake.:rolleyes::ROFLMAO:

Saban's Catholic, and so was Shula.
It’s strange the amount of judgement that the south has for Catholicism. I bet most don’t know Saban is Catholic, well, maybe they do. Religion is a requirement around here. But as long as he’s a winner they’ll turn a blind eye.

Bro you don’t discourage this kind of talk. Gently prod and ask questions to see how deep it goes. We were just about to enter a new dimension.

Tommy wasn’t in their top 5 that’s a fact based on who turned them down prior to him getting the offer.

It’s kind of a big deal for an employee to undertake a clandestine effort to secure employment elsewhere for another employee.

A clandestine effort!
Rees may not have been Bama’s first choice but they certainly know who he is and he’s a plausible candidate there no matter his father.

Agree, though, Bill Rees isnt/shouldn’t be coming back to ND. What I’m not clear is how important he is to our program. I know he’s experienced and well-regarded. Will he be a loss?

My understanding is that he does a lot of the deep dive into high school films. Those underrated but highly regarded offers/prospects come from his work, I believe.

Him leaving will be a loss, but I think it's worthy of discussion to debate importance. Was it more important in the CBK era when they targeted "traits?" Is it less important now with CMF's big game hunting?

Or is it now even more important than ever with the uncertainty of highly rated prospects and "acquisition fees?"
