Makes me think of the Snatch fight scene.

Which is immediately followed by this classic song:

Though I think the Mountain could kill many a man if he actually wanted to...McGregor included.

Lots of good music in that movie. I've always been partial to:

Yes. Weight classes exist for a reason.

Reminds me of 1969. Drop a little orange sunshine, smoke some hash, then make love, not war.

I LOVED the Freedom Rock commercial...I swear it played every half hour on the independent channel when I was in college.

With two exceptions, as displayed in the commercial – In The Year 2525 and 3Dog Night's Black and White (I hated those trite songs) it wasn't a bad line up.

I'm not sure that I ever saw the ad. It could have been my lack of a TV or the Window Pane. Or 'shrooms, or ...

The ORIGINALS were on 8 track

ca thunk program 2

ca thunk program 3

ca thunk program 4

Didn't it just grind your gears when, in the middle of a song there was that ca thunk a bit of silence and then the rest of the song?

8 track was the bomb. I actually had a stereo system that recorded 8 tracks so I made a lot of mixed tapes back then. Chicks loved them. I actually remember the 4 track player which came out around '64. My dad had one in our '65 Ford. After market unit as Ford and the others hadn't provided that as an option yet.

I had a buddy in high (a gear head) who fixed up an Chevy Nomad Station Wagon. I think it was a '57. He jacked up the rear end, souped up the engine ... and installed a tape deck that played both 4 and 8 track cartridges.

If he wasn't so ugly and such a dork, the chicks would have been all over him!*

*Sorry, Dave. I took out a poetic license to punch thing up a bit. He was a good looking, sharp guy and did all right with the ladies.

Random Thoughts with ACamp1900:

I noticed Back to School stuff is slowly hitting stores out here... then it hit me... Once that comes and goes the Halloween stuff is next:

Already out around here. My grandkids go back in about a week and a half.

My first workday is the 27th, first day with students the 31st. We are on that balanced schedule where we get 2 week breaks in October, December, and March, then 8 weeks in June and July.

Do they have a 2 on, 1 off schedule?

No, it's a balanced schedule like IrishSteelhead described. I think most of the school systems around Indy are now on the balanced schedule. My grandkids go back on the 26th or 27th as opposed to the 31st.
