That's nice to see, but the more I hear from Dilfer, the less I care about his opinion.

Dilfer is really good IMO. And even if you don't like him, he puts a TON of time in, studying tons of tape. No matter what you think of him, his opinions are really well-informed.

Also, these Elite 11 camps aren't just money-makers like you see in basketball where guys just play and don't really learn a whole bunch. These kids are getting coached up big-time, and Dilfer insight here in the mix. He's not letting these superstars get away with anything. Love it.

wasn't the best athlete nor was giving all the tools to be one of the best.. But the man understands the correct techniques along with understanding how the game is supposed to be played.. At times he get get pretty critical about certain qb's but that is his job.. Plus the man has a Super Bowl ring.. Hes okay in my books

Dilfer would be a great coaching candidate, IMO. He's smart as hell.

They talk up stuff sometimes but Elite 11 is great as is Dilfer IMO. They get hands on training from great trainers, current & former
players, & coaches. George "The QB Guru" Whitfield is involved. They get taught about not just the physical aspect of football but also the mental aspect like no other training place or coaching staff in the country. The technology they have for testing the mental aspect of being a QB is amazing. They also get a nice life lesson teaching from Dilfer etc.

Loy had a little summary of each commit:

Again not a Hood type event but he's enjoying himself and it seems the biggest thing ppl are noticing about Hood is his surprisingly good speed.

Brent was good again today. Had some injury problem but still got in the end zone a couple times

Of course as we have seen from this morning a lot of praise for Nelson

Quote from Loy "In talking with Dilfer and former NFL quarterback Jordan Palmer, Kizer has more upside and a higher ceiling than any quarterback in attendance this week"

“@SBNRecruiting: Know what this @TheOpening_2013 is missing? A Matthew Thomas / Jalyn Smith type at linebacker. This year's backers are thick.”

Was thinking the same thing. No LB can even come close to touching Jaylon in terms of coverage ability this year

Dilfer is high on ND, has visited practice in the past also i believe. Big fan of MZ after working with him at the Elite 11 last year

if i was a Div 1 HC and he was open to coaching i would hire Dilfer in a heartbeat, he seems to connect well with the recruits and has plenty of fire. not sure he knows **** about coaching but he has charisma and im sure would make a great recruiter.

Crazy to see Blough and White tear it up. Blough could definitely be a thorn in our side for as long as Purdue stays on the schedule.

Not suprised by White, he's the QB for the South Florida 7ON team and the only reason he's not ranked higher by the services is because he's 6'0 IMO

I was really impressed with him watching the ESPNU coverage last night. He seems to be a high intangible guy with great leadership qualities. Definitely a great get for Purdue but not real worried unless they start bringing in elite talent around him. A stud QB can only do so much on his own.

The talent on those Michigan teams = projected talent on Purdue 2014-2017?

yes i know..i just meant a qb can be a game changer...they handle the ball the most...how dynamic is he? idk and i have watched 0 film/highlights on him so i have no idea

The top 5 OL and DL will compete tonight on ESPNU in the Lineman Challenge Finals.

Top 5 OL entering final day of The Opening (not sure if in order):

Damien Mama (USC, UCLA, Alabama - ND with a lot of ground to make up)
Viane Talamaivao (Alabama commit)
JC Hassenauer (Alabama commit)
Toa Lobendahn (USC commit)
Cam Robinson (Alabama vs. LSU)

*Nelson with an outside chance to crack the top 5.

Conclusions: Polynesian linemen are nasty and Alabama continues to reload on the OL.

Top 5 DL entering final day of The Opening (not sure if in order):

Da'Shawn Hand (Florida, Alabama, Michigan)
Garrald McDowell (LSU lean)
Thomas Holley (ND lean)
Andrew Brown (Virginia commit)
Chad Thomas (Miami lean)

Digression down memory lane. Notre Dame commits Opening SPARQ scores on 7-7-2011 - David Perkins 126.78 Deontay Greenberry 112.83 Justin Ferguson 112.02 Tee Shepard 87.33 and Mark Harrell 80.82 Harrell's on the roster at center, but you would need an annotated recruiting road map to find where the others can be found.

For reference, Brent scored a 121.xx... higher than all but Perkins. He's gunna be good.

Not to high jack the thread but if Purdue would have had a better quarterback this year...we would have not been in the national championship.

Brent looks like a man out there! He is solid, going to be a great find for us! I love that we take pretty much the best player from Indiana every year.

I think it had to do with Hope more than anything. He was/is a terrible coach.

Good Lord. If Bama gets 4 of the top 5 OL at the Opening in this class!? Yikes.

Not to mention they already have the #1 JuCo OL (which they stole from UCLA last week) and another OG that committed at The Opening. And they signed five OL in 2013 and four in 2012. That's some excellent roster management!

“@ISDUpdate: Kizer targeting Lazard on almost every throw in 7ON at The Opening. Not sure if he's trying to win or trying to recruit and I'm not kidding.”

“@SBNRecruiting: Love Kizer long term, but he's been terrible today. Picked. Doubt he gets more than his guaranteed half.”

To be fair to Kizer, his team was down big already when he went in
