Tom just posted a big update, he is on the road to Columbus. He is also asking for things to do, places to see while there, so kuehn, this could be your chance to meet up.

My take on this is, you don't know if someone is good at their job because you follow them on Twitter lol. Why anyone who has never read a post or an article from Loy can defend him so diligently is beyond me. I'll say it again...it's like me listening to people talk about Sons of Anarchy and then going on a website without ever watching a single episode and start defending the show as if I know wtf I'm talking about. I would expect someone to tell me to stfu, and rightfully so. One shouldn't feel the need to post on EVERY thread, regardless of one's knowledge or lack thereof.
I was a member of 24/7 for quite some time, so I feel like I am qualified to give my opinion on Loy. His style is not my cup of tea. I think he's been taken for a ride by a recruit, trusting a young kid and ignoring all other relevant info (and there was a lot) and misleading his subscribers. I think he tries really hard, but he's trying too hard to make a name for himself (presumably to get a regional and then a national gig). And instead of just reporting the news, there are times he gives teasers just to get more hits and he gives the news hours later (and by the time he gives the news, everyone has already figured it out lol). That's his right, but it turned me off.
Hopefully he learns his lesson and he improves...

I won't try to explain it or reason with you, because you won't get it. But your TV show comparison is a completely different scenario that you're pretending is the same as recruiting + twitter + Loy summaries that everyone on IE sees.
Acting like 'we have no idea what he's like' is erroneous. We see his tweets, we hear his updates, we see the time between his 'news coming' and when he explains the news, we have a really good idea of how he operates. I do not need to study him to have an educated opinion.
It's different than not watching a TV show and pretending to know about the characters, plots, twists, etc.
A more comparable example for you to use, would be that of a political figure. But do you have to be at every town counsel meeting and vote on every topic and hear every debate to have ANY idea what that person is like and how they operate? Hell no.
You hate Loy. We get it. He's not going anywhere, so get on the wagon or at least stop whining about him every chance you get. There are other people who don't like Loy on here, but they don't let it bother them like it bothers you.
Loy gets buckets.

Anyway, your responses and excuses for why your opinion is so valid show how over-your-head this topic is. You're not just saying 'hey, I like the guy'. You're saying over and over how great he is at his job and ripping others who disagree, when you know shit about the topic and openly admit you're too cheap to really to understand what he does. I don't dislike Loy at all, but I think he can be over the top sometimes. All of the CB's look kind of silly even though I get it that all he is trying to do is create excitement amongst the fan base. Basically as far as 247 is concerned, I wait for Wiltfong to give his two cents and go from there. I will give Loy his props for Crawford though once/if he does commit. He has had the scoop all along.

First off, clearly it does because of the hate filled PMs you sent me last time you followed me around this site and tried to argue with me. But that's beside the point, because I never said anything 'me bothering you'. I said Loy bothers you, which is clear to all.
I don't have a problem. Not with you, or Loy. You're annoying but it's not a big deal because the internet is littered with those types of people, you just happen to be a ND fan on this site.
Again, it's not just me. Lots of people on here don't dislike Loy. Some do, but they keep it to themselves unlike you. But to recap, in your opinion it'd be fine if I bashed Loy, but since I stick up for him I'm a fool? If that's your perspective on standing up for someone vs. ripping them, that's a very sad world to live in.

False. I'm not making excuses. You're married to the fact that 'if you don't subscribe, you know nothing', and I think that is pretty simple to say the least. It is not the world we live in, ESPECIALLY in the transfer of information from 24/7 to twitter to IE. I have plenty of exposure to Loy and how he operates to make an informed opinion on whether he sucks or not.

Blocking kuehnja = greatest move I've ever made on IE.
No more talking to hear oneself talk, no more obnoxious and outlandish claims (see the previous point), and reading time in the threads is reduced significantly since the most frequent poster is hidden.
It's like a brand new website.

In all honesty, I feel like he is getting better. He isn't as quick with his CB anymore and seems to understand it pisses us off when he makes crazy predictions that aren't even remotely within reason. I guess I am warming up to him a bit more

I feel like the one addition that'd make 247 much better is to have the crystal balls count negatively for days placed on the wrong school.
Now I won't talk shit about Loy here even though I thought he was nuts picking Hilliard to ND especially down the stretch.
I will applaud him for making a thread today and saying why he thought Hilliard was going to ND and what he heard. Instead of sticking his tail between his legs and hiding about it. Good job Loy sticking your neck out.

Like I have always said he is great at his job. Hangs with the best and most def puts in the work.
The Hilliard thing kind of really turned me off to 247 more than anything. The fact that he said all weekend and this week he had scoop that he had that made him keep his "crystal ball" to ND. Then said he wasnt changing his CB buuuuuut that it Hilliard was probably going to end up at Ohio St. I mean he covered all basis there. I dont have a problem with that bc he did that in a classy way.
The problem was that Wiltfong put in his article Hilliard and Cornell told him Saturday that they were going to osu. So the Loy hyping up this info he dug deep in his contacts and sources, was 110% just to get hits to the ND site. I understand hits and views are important, but to basically lie to your customers rubs me the wrong way. Maybe Wiltfong didnt tell him, but I really struggle to believe that.
Just my two cents. Tom if you read this, props to you. Keep doing you but I really disagree with the actions you did over the weekend.
