So the take away here is...
Blow up a building = Muslim Extremist.
Stone a woman to death = Average Muhammad Muslim.
The challenge for people like yourself is you apply a Western spectrum to everyone. When they say they are not extreme and do not support terrorism...you take that as they are not extreme to what you define as extreme. Yet you don't grasp that many, if not most, Muslims think extreme actions to Western folks are standard and normal actions for their culture.
Wanted to pick up this conversation on this point.
In Norway back in October of 2013, 'moderate' Muslims held 'peace conference' and this video is from that conference.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/EYAcLudBbhg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The video really kicks it up an notch around the 2 minute mark when the speaker asks the 'moderate' Muslims at the conference if they agree with such things as stoning to death for adultery.
Interesting enough, the speaker goes to great effort to make the point that those in the room who think stoning a women to death for adultery are NOT Muslim extremists.
Here is a write up from a Muslim blog. Not a media outlet but a blog.

Don't know if people caught this news story, but it seems to be verified at this point. Basically, "normal" Muslims cheering the terrorist attacks and then the police showed up and told him not to tweet about that.
I would like to hear your answer to kmoose's comment above.
Furthermore, you do realize that there are muslim cultures all over the world, right? What is acceptable in Syria isn't necessarily acceptable in Indonesia.
This is where "people like you" (if you're going to randomly lump me into an ideology, don't bitch when I do it back to you) misconstrue middle eastern cultures with Islam as a whole. There are literally billions of muslims worldwide, and you want the rest of us to believe that every single one of them is radical, morally reprehensible, terrorist. That's simply absurd.
Can you link to the question or post it. Not sure what you're referencing.
Have you ever been to a Muslim country?
Is there any news outlets in Europe reporting this at all? Is there anyone else on Twitter over there talking about this?
Just what is a Muslim country? Are you going off the majority of the population being of a specific faith or are you going off who actually runs the political structure?
What countries have you been to, that you consider Muslim?
I consider a 'Muslim Country' as one that is run under Sharia Law. I have not and will not go to these nations.

So only the most extreme examples are Muslim countries, and you have never been to one.....
With all due respect; you don't know jacksh!t about Muslims, other than what you think you know from reading a book or an article, or watching TV and movies. I've worked in Jordan, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Bosnia, and Serbia. All countries with majority, or very significant, Muslim populations. I can tell you that many, if not most, Muslims don't give a flying fvck what is happening in the West. They are merely trying to scratch out a meager living in their own country. They welcomed us in each and every one of these places. From our government contacts, to the hotel people, to the restaurant worker, to the shopkeepers, to the average person on the street; they were friendly, polite, respectful, and helpful to us. They laughed with us, they took meals with us, they didn't get the least bit upset or uppity about us ordering wine with dinner, and they even had us into their own homes in some cases.

I'm not commenting at all on your opinions but your statement regarding Serbia is not true. Serbia is almost entirely Eastern Orthodox. They have a small 3% minority of Muslims.
So let me get this straight. If you are someone who say goes to Dubai on Business you all of a sudden become an expert on the Muslim faith?
Does someone need to go to North Korea in order to speak to communism or understand the state under dictatorship?
Will all due respect, you opinion is is one of the dumbest things I have read online this month and I am on reddit most days. Being indifferent on something is not equal to being against something.
I will add, it also add a comment on how naive you come off. What people SAY and DO are often different than what they THINK and BELIEVE. Even further, what people SAY and DO are often based on who they are around. This point you seem to want to ignore. Were you expecting a couple of slides on a jihad in your business meeting while in Egypt? GMAFB.
Reminds me of a story of my recent move to North Carolina. We moved here but had friends here already. Made it easier as we often went to BBQs by friends or friends of friends.
Now we moved to the outskirts of Charlotte for a larger house/yard and better schools. 15 years ago this area was pretty rural.
Anyways, at a BBQ at a friend of a friend. Nice enough event. Met some really good people. One guy was a HS friend of the person who was hosting. Was talking to the host and this guy walked up. The three of us start shooting the shit.
Found out he worked for a large commercial developer in sales/project management. Found out he went to the Baptist Church around the corner. Found out he coached his daughters soccer team. Seemed like a nice enough guy.
Until the conversation moved to school redistricting. He then jumped on the chance to suggest he really was concerned that those n****s didn't get bused into their assigned school or that his daughter would have to go to one of their schools.
Maybe he had one too many beers. Maybe he didn't have his 'Christian' hat on that he puts on every Sunday when he goes to Church. Maybe he didn't have the same mindset as he did at his job. Or maybe, just maybe, he forgot he was speaking someone who didn't grow up in the rural South.
I didn't take one trip to one Muslim country and suddenly proclaim to be an expert. I merely pointed out that I have enough time around "everyday" Muslims, that have grown up and still live in the "group think" of Muslim culture, to know that your statement was complete bullsh!t.
No. But if you are going to offer an opinion on everyday life in North Korea, and how North Koreans view the West, you might want to have actually visited North Korea and interacted with some North Koreans. Sounds kind of logical, huh?
You don't read your own posts, huh? That would explain the glaring uncorrected typos at least.
naïve, eh? "Showing a lack of experience, wisdom, or judgment."
My opinions of Muslims and their views of Westerners comes from actual experience with actual Muslims in actual countries that have Muslim history. Yours comes from reddit. Who do you think has more experience?
I used to live in Hickory, so your North Carolina story is nothing new to me. I've been there, done that. Do I think that every Muslim in the Middle East/Eastern Europe loves Americans? Of course not. But the hate for, and extremism against, America is NOWHERE NEAR as prevalent as most Americans think it is.
I'm not commenting at all on your opinions but your statement regarding Serbia is not true. Serbia is almost entirely Eastern Orthodox. They have a small 3% minority of Muslims.
Ya. I guess there must be some secret society in nations like Jordan, which for example produces about 315 ISIS fighters per million, that is outside of Islam. Must be a different type of book club.
Let me guess, you didn't see any of those folks right? Or did you miss those slides in the powerpoint?
If radical and extreme Muslims are at the tip of a pyramid, they need to be supported by something. If Muslims in these peaceful nations are being converted to become ISIS fighters, there is some sort of secondary network of recruiters that exist. If these recruiters exist they are going to need to be tolerated by many in order to isolate the few who can be converted. All of these people are culpable.
If you're just wanting to refuse to see that...I just don't know what to say.
Walking by a guy who was just lynched and not saying anything doesn't removal you from the problem. In fact, it's the silence that allows the lynching to happen in the first place and keeping your mouth shut doesn't mean you're not a racist.
I'll take math and money over inferred logics for $1000 Alex.
Ah the typos. Ya. I have them. No. I don't bother to fix. But I would rather have a typo done on accident than to state something as fact and look like an asshole or moron when corrected. See. Serbia.
I'll try to do a better job of my typos and errors for you.
You're naive because you are taking things at face value because that fits the story you want to tell.
I know that ISIS fighters and funding come from all over the globe. Including the US and the nations you mention, where they supposedly have no interest in such things. I know that in order for this to happen, people either have to look the other way or be so worried about what the PC police will think of them to say out loud that something is going on.
I know that when you allow a group of people to put women as a second class because some book tells them it's OK to do so...it's an eventuality that people who are not in their right mind will explore other topics of that book to act out on.
But maybe if you're one of those folks who thinks some dude turned water into wine and crawled out of a cave it's a bit difficult to see this.
The hate exists to the point where people are walking into buildings and blowing up shit. That's too much hate to just let happen. But that's not the real problem I have.
The real problem I have is that when people do walk into a subway and set of a bomb killing people in the name of Allah, or Jesus for that matter, people don't wake the fuck up and say maybe living our lives by these ancient works of fiction is not the best idea. That's my problem.
Let me put it to you another way. Take this group of 4 types:
Person A - Joins the KKK and is willing to kill or hurt blacks based on his/her belief structure.
Person B - Is not an active member of a group like the KKK, does not have the motivation to act on his/her feelings but does spew hatred online and in person. Not always but often enough and when doing so does these things with those of like minds.
Person C - Is not an active member of a group like the KKK and does not express publicly his/her feelings towards blacks but internally at best expresses indifference towards racism and at worst is happy to see racist actions take place.
Are all of these people not racists by definition? Just because they don't put a massive bullseye on their back does not mean they are not inherently morally reprehensible folks for how they think.
You could draw the same lines for Christians on the topic of Gay Rights...
Person A - Goes out and protests Pride. Actively goes out of their way to collect signatures to create legislation.
Person B - Gives money to efforts against the Gay community. Talks about God and agrees what their preacher told them about 'Teh Gays' in Church and talks about 'Family Values' on Facebook.
Person C - Is not public on any of this but when there is a chance to vote for legislation against 'Teh Gays' they see no issue in doing so.
All of these people are bigots.
Found out he worked for a large commercial developer in sales/project management. Found out he went to the Baptist Church around the corner. Found out he coached his daughters soccer team. Seemed like a nice enough guy.

Well, 3% is over 200,000 Muslims. It's certainly not a majority, but 200,000 people is significant.
Ooops - now that I have read all of your posts, it's just so obvious to me. We shouldn't judge people based on their race or their sexuality but we should judge them based on their religion. Got it. Because all Muslims are terrorists and all Christians are racist bigots.
There are 3.3 million Muslims living in America but that doesn't make any of us an authority on Islam.
I'm not trying to pick a fight, I just think you should remove Serbia from your list of countries.
