I think winning the title each year is pretty dominant but if you wanna crown someone else's asses for some other criteria then crown their asses baby.
Multiple programs losing bowl games to Northwestern should be noted when we're framing this. Bama has carried this load for a long time after the Swamp Kings. Cam Newton and Joe Burrow played their parts. The rest of the riff raff doesn't get to say they're dominant.

In Bowl games the last 5 years the SEC leads with a 60% winning percentage, followed by the Big 10 at 55%, the Big 12 at 50%, the ACC at 40% and the Pac 12 at 36%.

I did not account for the losses to Northwestern multiplier to be fair.

First time I can remember only one SEC team in the top 10. Usually they make up half the top 10. And they are still overrated with the only four teams with one loss in the Top 25 coming from the SEC (Bama, LSU, Tennessee, Florida) - four of the six SEC teams making the Top 25. Adding TX and OK starts to look like a good move to strengthen the SEC. Hell their best OOC wins in the first month of the year are probably Mizzou over K-State and Ole Miss over Tulane.

I bet a third of the conference Ws year to date are against D2 schools. Juggernaut!
Would you name some of those D2 schools? Actually, I don't believe there's a single one on any SEC team's schedule. The SEC is having a down year so far. It happens, but it's our first in ages. Keep in mind, this is the conference that won the past 4 NC's, 15 of the past 20, has more players in the NFL than any other conference, and has had more players chosen in each of the past 16 NFL drafts. Curb your enthusiasm for the death of the king. It's a slow year. That's all.

Don't take this stuff too hard. Everyone here wants Alabama to get back into the realm of the college football elite, it's just better for the sport. RDU notwithstanding, the board is rooting for you guys.

I'm rooting for them to do well, but I'm okay with a short break from the elite thing. It's been a long dynasty

Don't be so sensitive Bishop. There may not be any D2 schools on the schedule, but plenty of bottom feeders which is pretty much the equivalent.

We got along fine with them being average before the arrival of Saban. I'm fine with them being average going forward. CFB is more exciting when there are a lot of teams capable of winning a NC instead of just one IMO.

Nearly every team in the SEC, though not Bama, has played one of their first three games against an FCS - which, so did we this year, fair - or some equivalent FBS bottom feeder like UMass. Some of them will play another the week before Thanksgiving.

But I think the broader point is that while Bama and Georgia, kinda LSU, sometimes Florida or Tennessee are quite good, the bottom half of that conference has been riding the big boys' coattails for so damn long and it's pretty tiresome. A program like Arkansas is nothing special, and that's OK.

Serious question. Why? Not looking for an argument or anything, just curious as to why.
I can't speak for others but it seems like basic human nature to root for the giants to fall, especially when the dynasty has been rolling for well over a decade. Parity is what makes the sport great.

I have no reason to hate the New England Patriots, but I was sick and tired of watching the same damn ending to a 6-month long story. It was boring. I'm enjoying Bill looking lost the past few seasons without Tom, simply because he won so much.

That spike of the challenge flag on SNF was pretty damn funny though, credit where credit is due.

I'm going to be the outlier here because I'm not going to fluff Bama by saying "because I'm tired of them winning" or any of that stuff. Bama could've sucked for the last ten years and I'd still be rooting for them to suck harder. I genuinely dislike that program. They're easily the most boring blueblood brand in the sport IMO. Bryant Denny is boring and looks like a pro stadium. Logo is boring. Traditions are boring. When they're winning, their only culture is that they're winning. When they're not winning, their culture is that they """"used"""" to be racist and houndstooth. They aren't even really interesting from a racist standpoint, because they don't embrace it as well as Ole Miss. Also, 1973 is bullshit and so are several others. Spare me the "it was a different era" stuff. Program padding embarrassments.

I'm extremely ready for Saban to retire and I wish nothing but Mike Shula level coaches for them in perpetuity forevermore.

Based.

I'm not this hostile, but I'm ready for them to exit stage left for awhile.

I guess I need to clarify my post was meant to be hurtful/Minnesota Nice. I think these Bama guys like to hang out here when they're worldbeaters and wish us the best and otherwise patronize the board in the exact tone I used and I think it's weird and I wish they would go away.

TTT and Bishop have been on here for a long time. They're pretty good guys all in all, but I'm not going to console them if they lose a few games. ;)

Both TTT and Bishop seem to support both our Irish and the pachyderms. They are bright and cordial. Obvs some folks here will not like Alabama for whatever reason but I, for one, appreciate it when the "Down with Bama" IE crowd is similarly cordial.

Truth. It's good to have opposing viewpoints on here and other fan bases. It helps drive discussion and engagement. Circle jerks are boring, and websites like that dwindle and die.

As an example, Buckeye Planet used to be a big gathering place for fans and they would reach out to other team's boards to bring outside fans in to chat. Over time they pushed other fans out though, turned into a circle jerk, and they're running on fumes having to lease ad space to jewelers to make ends meet. As an example, their OSU/ND gameday thread has only 5 pages in it while ours has 21. At one point they were a much bigger board with twice the registered members, but right now they've got 26 active members online with 151 total viewers (guests) while we're at 61 members and 344 total viewers.

Credit @IrishLax @IrishLion @Cackalacky2.0 @BeauBenken @clashmore_mike (RIP), and the rest of the team for stepping up and taking over this site when it was neglected and ignored by the former owner.

@Whiskeyjack and @Luckylucci. We absolutely couldn’t have done it without Clashmore and Whiskey.

I feel bad for Alabama that they have all these coattail riding clingers trying to get contact buzzes off of their success just because they're in the SEC with them.

"Bama kicking our ass in October and then us celebrating as a conference in January when they win something. It just means more."

They ultimately ended the Meyer/Tebow Gator Reign, and for that they did the world a service, regardless of any collateral damage that followed.

Amen
Those FL teams were full of bad dudes, top to bottom. Tebow was perhaps the exception and they white knighted the shit out of him to cover up their sins.

My Mom's family is Irish Catholic and I was weaned on ND from Day 1.

My Dad's always loved Alabama because Joe Namath was his idol.

Unless they play ND or them losing will benefit ND, I will "root" for Alabama out of love for my Dad.

But man, everything about them is boring as fuck.
