And when the Patriots lose to the Giants, while they didn't have LT, they had 4 guys who were in his face all day. As far as should have had 8, he didn't. He had 4 appearances. Which is 2 less than Brady. So...

That's actually 3 less.

Ironically, the Pats almost blew it by calling a fade at the goal line late rather than just going to the ground right away.

Beasley probably should've got both hands on the ball when they tried to fade to Bennett.

YUP...agree.

Sure thing... Ratings, Vegas, and Money has nothing to do with the last few Championship debacles. It's mind blowing and Is sure to only get more interesting.

Wtf 5-2 is way more impressive that 4-0. Losing a Super Bowl still adds to your legacy because you had to GET to the Super Bowl in the first place.

RIGHT!!! Phil Simms was on a different planet than Brady and Montana. He got there..

So if Brady plays for the Bears, is he still the greatest?

We can assume that Michigan held Brady (the GOAT) back?

QB is so dependent on the situation. Obviously if Brady gets drafted by the Browns, he doesn't go to 7 super bowls. If Montana doesn't end up with Walsh/49ers, his legacy would be different. Same for Bradshaw/Steelers, Aikman/Cowboys, etc...

I will say, Brady "maximized" his situation as well as anyone in history. Can't imagine another QB doing any better than he has.

Of course, if Belichick has to stay with Drew Bledsoe for an extra 4 years he's probably not known as the Greatest coach of all time.

Hopefully, Kizer ends up in a good place.

Maybe, or possibly the coaching staff just doesn't recognize talent. lol

Brady and Joe Montana were both 7th string QBs at their respective schools.

"I think for sure we ran out of gas some"

"I think for sure we ran out of gas some"

Atlanta Head Coach Dan Quinn.

They executed terrifically. That was one of the things that we don't talk about with them a lot, is the way they can execute.

"When they got hot, it was hard for us to deal with.

Kelly would have been skewered here for that quote.

There's a bit of a difference between a 20+ year coach explaining why he lost to Duke, and a second year coach explaining why he lost the Super Bowl.....

Quinn has been a football coach for 24 years, 16 in the NFL but I guess you see that as comparable to Grand Valley State, CMU, and Cincy.

Regardless of who coached at which college and an NFL coach, much less one that gets to the Super Bowl, both were responding to media questions about how they had a multi-touchdown lead while shutting out the opponent and then the opponent turned the tables scoring several unanswered TDs.

The one coaching professional players noted they ran out of gas. His team has an 8 point lead with less than 5 minutes to play and had a chance for 39 yd FG AND run some time off the clock. BUT they didn't. They went for it all taking little time off the clock and having to punt. But his players ran out of gas.

Kelly didn't say his players ran out of gas. He commented on their lack of execution. Do you remember the 3 turnovers? The busted coverage on the 96 yd kick return? Or the broken tackle that turned a short pass into a 60 yd TD? Kelly did comment on their lack of energy, not gas but intensity, something Kizer noted in his post game comments that Kelly "had been preaching all week in practice".

Nah - his septic system might have issues though. If it's Brown, flush it down.

You guys are assholes...

As a Cleveland fan I find that it's therapeutic to just laugh at the teams and then be pleasantly surprised when they do well. There also seems to be this...inverse relationship to wins among all the teams. When one team does well, the other two are mediocre to poor. Sometimes all 3 are middle of the road. In cases like 2016 when two are very good, the third goes damn near winless to makeup for the success of the other two. It's like there's a limited amount of success available for Cleveland teams

In the end, I've just about stopped following the Browns. They're still my Madden team, but aside from that there's only so much pain I can stomach being a Cleveland fan and Irish fan.

Serious question...

Cleveland is not that far from Pittsburgh. They see the Rooney ownership model. They had the Modell ownership model, that seemed to pan out ok.

Why can't they get an owner or ownership group that can do this??? Why can't the city figure out what Pittsburgh and Baltimore are doing to "do their part". You can talk about bad luck drafting, and incompetence at the GM spot, etc, etc.

My personal opinion on it...bad draft days tend to come from GMs and coaching staffs who are reaching...reaching comes from inexperience and ownership pressure. Cleveland needs an ownership group that will hire a proven FOOTBALL GM...give him 7 years...step away....shrug.

While that all seems logical and rational, it doesn't fit the current Cleveland Browns model...because it's logical and rational. In truth, they will occasionally make some smart moves. Then they really screw the pooch with a pick like Manziel. If you're going to take a chance, the first few rounds are not the place to do it.

...Bothers me some. I'd be better with it if Brady dominated...but he sucked for about 3 quarters.

Not saying Brady doesn't deserve it, but Atlanta has the ball at the edge of the redzone, ready to make it 3 scores. At that point you run, run, run, kick the field goal and win the game. The Atlanta Falcons coaching staff handed this to Tom Brady. They should be ashamed.

But their stupidity lead to an historic Super Bowl, and it was fun to watch.

Not only that, but the following things baffled me:
-Atlanta seemed to be leaving A LOT of time on the play clock on their last two drives before NE tied it up. Pretty certain they left well over a minute on the clock from snapping with 10-15+ seconds on the play clock. I bet if someone went back and looked, during the 2nd half (after going up 28-3) drives that Atlanta had they probably gave NE well over 2 minutes of clock time by not letting the clock run down further.
-Atlanta burned their first 2 second half timeouts way too early. Bet they would have loved one of those back when they got the ball tied with a minute left.
-Matt Ryan seemed to perfect the art of making the 2 minute offense (granted they only had one) a 15 second offense. understand maybe 1 throw to the middle of the field, but you've been out of college for 8 years now: clock does not stop on first downs. If you are trying to get in FG range with a minute left on the clock (and no TO's), throw to the sidelines; if you think it is too aggressive to try to move up field, take a knee and go to OT.

In fairness I think that's what they are doing now... ownership has seriously changed their tune with this group and it sounds like Haslam is ready for the long haul finally.

We shall see.

I'll believe it when I see it. The Browns seem more concerned with being 100 million under the cap more than anything else. Talent evaluation has been a major fail since they came back and then they hire a lawyer and a 28 year old to run personnel. Also, a lawyer who was part of the last regime who picked Manziel, Gilbert and others. Been a fan my whole life and it is starting to wear on me. Last year was the first time I willingly didn't watch the games and didn't even bother to record them.
