Being the AD of Youngstown after winning a NC at OSU has to be boring AF. I can't imagine he's happy there. That'd be like me going from head greater at Walmart to outside cart boy in the 3rd shift.

Just be happy you moved up from reserve cook to fry boy at Mickey D's. I think you have tapped your potential...

...head greeter at wally world. So is that the new Walmart strategy...have the greeter piss people off on the way in so they don't want to have to walk past him again...

Kidding...

I agree if someone wanted the vest...he'd be on the sidelines again...

We are hearing that it has a lot to do with his health. Apparently there is some concern and the smartest thing he can do is get out now and let the stress of coaching be a thing of the past. But no one has more details on the health issue, so that may be all that comes of it. He has been quite the character, and a pretty darn good coach. I wish him the best in retirement.

So that's why you moved? You got an offer from Wal Mart to be a greeter?

Personally, I'm a little miffed at Cacky. He's the IE beat reporter for the South Carolina area. Not only did he get beat to the punch on this news, but he hasn't even posted yet.

The two Steves out at the two USCs. What a day.

There is a lot of mixed reactions down here in SC.

Shawn Elliott will be the interim head coach. The town I live in is where he is from and people here are pretty excited about that.

I always enjoyed Spurrier's press conferences.

Except......he isn't the AD, he is the President.

I am hearing GA Mangus the QB Coach will be the interim coach....

And yes... I am seeing the reactions are mixed. People have been expecting it for a while. I think there were hints of it last season. Expectations are high now since the HBC showed them the light. The current 0-4 SEC start is and manner of losses is unacceptable. Also with Clemson being ranked so high that is unacceptable too. Haha.

Well, I guess my Camden connections are better than yours. LOL

Report: Shawn Elliott to be named Gamecocks’ interim head coach as Spurrier steps down - Post and Courier

EDIT: And just an extra FYI. My connection(with the last name of Elliott) stated that Shawn and Spurrier had a huge falling out after the KY game. Shawn was ready to resign at the end of the year if Steve didn't go.

I am going to miss Spurrier.

Jabbing at the Georgia ...

"I don't know. I sort of always liked playing them that second game because you could always count on them having two or three key players suspended."

"Why is it that during recruiting season they sign all the great players, but when it comes time to play the game, we have all the great players? I don't understand that. What happens to them?"

Jabbing at Tennessee ...

On Tennessee missing out on the Sugar Bowl during his Florida years: "You can't spell Citrus without U-T."

On Peyton Manning: "I know why Peyton came back for his senior year. He wanted to be a three-time star of the Citrus Bowl."

Jabbing at Florida State ...

"You know what FSU stands for, don't you? Free Shoes University."

On FSU players hitting Danny Wuerffel late: "He's like a New Testament person. He gets slapped up side the face, and turns the other cheek and says, 'Lord, forgive them for they know not what they're doing.' I'm probably more of an Old Testament guy. You spear our guy in the earhole, we think we're supposed to spear you in the earhole. That's kind of where we're a little different."

On Jadeveon Clowney getting a speeding ticket: “I didn't know Jadeveon's car that could go that fast. He doesn't have a pretty car like those FSU guys used to drive."

Jabbing at everyone else ...

On a fire at the Auburn library that destroyed 20 books: "The real tragedy was that 15 hadn't been colored yet."

On Tennessee and Arkansas having the same record as South Carolina in 2014: “We were 7-6. Same as Tennessee, same as Arkansas. I think they're sorta celebratin' big seasons last year. … There are people in Knoxville and Fayetteville still doing cartwheels over going 7-6."

Spurrier to UCF as AD. Plenty of time for golf with Florida buds.

Morris to USCe. Dykes to USCw.
