I have told this before that i had a good friend in high school who was considering going to SC... don't know what happened to him bc we never spoke again.

I get the whole picture though, scUM is easily the worse of the two from an ND historical standpoint... doesn't mean that redeems SCum at all tho.

I didn't say I have a ton of respect for USC, I consider them just a notch above Michigan, and it doesn't get any lower than that. There's plenty to hate there. If USC is an enemy, Michigan is more like a nemesis.

Most unique, yeah. Best? Go catch an OSU/UM, UT/OU, Bama v. TN/Aub/LSU and rethink your position. SC fans are just to damn lame to make it that good.

This is all germaine, albeit obliquely, to Shaw being able to recruit the few that might be eligible for The Farm based on a win or lose with U$C.

For those of us who are ND fans in SoCal USC is the hated team above all others.

For U$C fans, UCLA is a bigger rivalry than ND. We are a big game for them but it doesn't impact a PAC Title or California bragging rights.

The importance of the ND game to them is when both teams are undefeated with a National Title on the line. Each team has cost the other team a national title some 4 or 5 times ... each!

David Shaw on Stanford having satellite camps (fuller quote):

I have no opinion. It's never affected us. People do them, and people don't do them. We've got great attendance at the camps we have here. We get a lot of guys we want to come.

But I didn't like the way that a lot of people have put this as the SEC against Jim Harbaugh. That's not what this has been about. Conference by conference, this has been going on for three-plus years, since Jim was with the 49ers. This has been a battle. As a conference, we had a long discussion three years ago about what we were going to do about satellite camps.

I'm great with whatever college football says, because it doesn't affect us. It doesn't make sense for us to go hold a camp some place where there might be one person in the entire state that's eligible to get into Stanford.
