I agree with all that but the D. They've been more then solid. If you can't put up more points then SIXTEEN against fucking Stanford.... How is that at all the D'S fault????
True. I was adamant that McKee was good enough to score at least 20 points. What I didn’t expect is that they wouldn’t need that many points.

- His deep ball is weak. He under threw Tobias. He missed Styles earlier in the game when he was open for a score.

- He’s inaccurate with short passes. Almost got Mayer killed on that last possession. Missed an open Styles on what was a decent 3rd down call earlier in the quarter.

- His decision making is poor. Why he doesn’t utilize his legs more is beyond me. He threw short on 4th down. Even if Jayden caught it, he’s short. Someone was behind Jayden and looked open.

- Golden made zero adjustments. McKee got rid of the ball so quick and CBs played off all night. So many pitch and catches that had huge gains.

- 4th and goal and TR calls an end around to Jayden. Run, run, Mayer. Run, run, Mayer. So predictable.

I doubt TR will get canned or Pyne will get benched so MF deserves what happens to him the rest of the season. I could understand not blowing things up after Marshall but there’s no excuse now. Should’ve blown Stanford out of the water.

Really alarmed at our lack of talent on offense. Pyne, all of the WR group and even our vaunted OL. Blake Fisher gave up two drive killing sacks to an absolute nobody. OL in general not dominant.

We got nothing to hang our hat on on offense. Load the box, stop the run, make Pyne beat you. He won't.
Pynes movement in the pocket, or lack there of is a big problem. Most of the night he had all day to throw and had room to run if he was decisive.

IMO, he did better than I thought far as mobilization. He stepped up in the pocket multiple times & he stayed in the pocket multiple times. The problem was he made shitty passes after avoiding the rush.

That should all be a moot point, however; when you consider Stanford is a SHITTY defense.

This team sucks.

I wish Freeman would try to coach during the game. At least Brady Hoke clapped. Freeman just stands there, chewing gum, holding his knees.

Sad day for Notre Dame.
I fear this. Freeman spent enough time as a coordinator that he wants his coordinators to have some reign. But he hasn't spent enough time as a HC to know when to reign them back in.

I know this because I have coached too. It is hard to tell what is growing pains sometimes and what is just flat out they don't know enough.

And how long will the ace recruiter be an ace recruiter for if he can't win games?
Those things are directly correlated, but there are much less charming coaches selling a worse school than ND who consistently out recruited Kelly, so who knows?

Right. No one wants to be a micro manager….but when you’re the HC you are charged w/ keeping your coordinators honest.

He moves up in the pocket like he’s 6’3. By the time he does decide to throw, he’s got no room to be accurate and passes sail, get batted down, or he throws it into the ground.

Michigan and Tennessee have just as much talent, if not less, than ND and are fielding teams capable of beating everyone. I don’t want hear that loser shit that we’ll never win again.

I think they mean that the university just won't let them do what it takes to have a top program. You know, the things that ran Lou Holtz and Brian Kelly off.

Watching the post game press - dude is way too nice. Not saying he needs to call folks out but my goodness. No your coordinator is not doing a great job if the players are not executing. Stop with that talk.

I'm not done with MF but bruh...

I’ll give Freeman 2 years. Not being able to get the team up for a rivalry game against Stanford and the lack of attention to detail are just awful signs early on in his tenure.

The team plays like a bunch of losers. Not a program that won 10 games for 5 straight years.
I'll give him two years as well. I don't consider Stanford a real rivalry game, it feels made up. I'll also cut him some slack because he's a new head coach and young coach in general.

But Rees sucks at this job. I don't care if he's a boy genius or the smartest offensive mind since McVay. He's not a good offensive coordinator. If he got fired tomorrow or (more likely) leaves for outside opportunities at the end of the season, no one would shed a tear.

This team looked like they were smelling themselves a little too much.

IF they smell themselves now, they may pass out.

He’s not going to throw them under the bus publicly nor would I be happy if he did. It’s not what he says during a press conference, it’s the actions that are taken this week. That’s what we need to be on the lookout for.

I’ll say it. Brian Kelly wins this game by 2 TDs.
I honestly think I would have.
I made a call in the second quarter that we just needed to fully commit to running the ball with Estime (and Diggs). Very next play Rees calls that cute Lenzy thing. He just wasted too much time before going back to what works.

We have a couple of savages at running back. An all timer at tight end. I like Styles and Tobias blew to top off the defense twice. This shit shouldn’t be this hard. What a feeble performance. And as frustrating as the tackling is at times, (third and long) the defense has played pretty well. I hate that I look forward to this all year.

100%

You should give a new coach 3 years. Get all his guys in there, get his staff in there, and see what's up.

I didn't see much that was bad head coaching... I saw a bad OC left over from the last regime.
