Disagree, hasn’t set the program back at all *unless* he keeps him for too long and the talent starts going down hill. Otherwise, it’s treading water waiting for the right hire (Fickell?)
We are about to see decommitments and transfers at the end of the year. Painful ones.

And this is Notre Dame. We cant take most transfers and jucos. We cant just bounce back.

This program is terrible. Call me a troll, call me a dick if you insist but this program is archaic, poorly coached, and so far behind the times it won’t ever get any better unless this whole university rethinks how to make a competitive program…which it isn’t going to do.

I've been saying this for years, and yes, you'll be called a troll.

Assuming we go like 6-6 this year, if Freeman goes 0-3 against OSU, USC, and Clemson in 2023, he may be gone by thanksgiving ‘23.

In the postgame, Freeman said that he told the team that he is disappointed. Really wish he would be fucking mad!

Sort of the antithesis of the Weis era. Defense does enough but offense looks like Rick Moranis is at OC, before John Madden’s bus breaks down in town.

Nah, ND would need a good defense to be the antithesis of a Weis team. They don't even have that.

tbh after the first drive the D gave up 9 points.

They did enough—especially with the guys they were down by the end of the game.

Well guys I pussied out from watching this shit show because I live my dogs (corgis) so I dvr it and delete if they lose it. I follow the thread in here and it was brutal but for good reason. Like many have said I have my weekends back and won’t waste time even wondering if these heartless fellas with a fired bunch of coaches are doing. All my ND flags and merchandise including my club head covers are in the storage shed for another year. Just don’t know how to explain a team that dominated two much better teams and then shows up flat as Kelly Rippa against teams at home they are favored to beat by 20. Many of these positions need to be open to the newbies because we have seen enough of the soft minded weak hearted starters. If Freeman had an ounce of pride he would negotiate an exit package because he’s taking ND fans down the drain with him the way Willingham did to the Washington Huskies. We will see how much if this class he can hold together. He should accept a demotion and deferred salary and return to DC while we make room for a well rested Urban. Time to stop being everyone’s pal and bring in a coach who doesn’t F around. Pyne should bench himself if he really loves ND. Tommy should have gone with Kelly who looks like an Fn coaching God compared to what he followed and what has followed him.

Well nuff said. We won’t be taken seriously until we have an undefeated season which will NEVER happen under these goofs.

Really alarmed at our lack of talent on offense. Pyne, all of the WR group and even our vaunted OL. Blake Fisher gave up two drive killing sacks to an absolute nobody. OL in general not dominant.

We got nothing to hang our hat on on offense. Load the box, stop the run, make Pyne beat you. He won't.

Felt like the 2nd half of Ok State all over again. Stanford was playing the receivers tight all game, our guys couldn't get much separation.

Tobias looked real good on his TD though, and he was open on the other one that Drew sailed on him. With the way this season is going we absolutely need to get him more reps for next year. Lenzy has 8 catches for 70 yards in 6 games with no TDs, Tobias now has 1 catch on 2 targets for 40 yards and a TD. Get Lenzy out of there. We need receivers that are hungry and will beat coverages like that.

Not gonna fault Estime on the fumble. Defender put his hat right on the ball. You want him to have two hands on it in those circumstances, but the same thing happened to the Bus in the playoffs in '05. The balls gonna come out when the defender puts a helmet on it.

Diggs looked good. He and Mayer were two of the few bright spots on offense, they came to play.

We gave up way too many 3rd and long plays defensively. We held Stanford off the board, but you have to get them off the field on those 3rd and long plays. They killed us in TOP 1st half, in part because our offense was complete ass.

We don't run a lot of Slants it seems. Quick Slants may have helped against that tight coverage, I dunno.

What's sad is I can't really see ND competing with the big boys...like Ever. This isn't the 80s with 2 football games on every Sat and one of them is ND. Especially with playoffs...I mean in what world will ND beat the likes of OSU, Bama, UGA (in consecutive weeks to win a Natty). Christ they haven't beat three teams like that since 95, let alone in an expanded playoff...They aren't built for this...maybe in the 1920s they were...but I'm convinced most of us will die without seeing ND win another title.

After I go to bed tonight I'm done thinking about Irish football until August 23. Hopefully we've got a new coach by then.

It still might be the right call—but Marcus is going to have to have the stones to axe Tommy.
Better upgrade the talent. Its tough to gameplan when your QB and WR's are terrible.
It won't matter who the play caller is if you don't get better players.
