Busy day at work and I have so many things to catch up on and give thoughts about:

1. Partridge was a high school coach who has been shady as shit dating back to his days at Paramus Catholic. He took a nothing level high school and shadily recruited Rashan Gary and a couple of other dudes there. Jabrill Peppers was at Don Bosco and transferred around that time to PC, which was the NJ equivalent of going from Nick Saban's Alabama to Bob Diaco's UCONN. But way worse.

2. Cheating has been in his DNA from the beginning. He also only coached in college as a "recruiting staff member" to deliver Gary and Peppers. He didn't get onto the field until much later. He has no mutual coaching tree or network to save him a la the terrible Baylor people. Without Michigan he's done for in college. A show clause penalty all but guarantees that. If he cooperates with the NCAA maybe they will show mercy but his college football dream is toast otherwise.

3. This guy Tim Smith says in one hand to the Yahoo article that he didn't know Connor and only says hi to him in passing... Then in his message board post says he texted Connor to check in on him after the scandal broke. GTFO with the inconsistency and lies.

4. A lawyer or accountant must see SOME sort of fraud or tax implications here, right? If the IRS or other government agency gets involved then they have subpoena power and then that's when Michigan could get rightfully screwed. If there is any type of gambling involvement (as rumored about Weiss) then that's FBI territory.

I definitely remember the NJ - Gary recruiting BS. It was one of the first moves Harbaugh pulled when he got the job right? He filled out a lot of his staff with analyst roles for HS coaches who had relationships with top recruits. Continues to this day with Ron Bellamy and Biff Poggi before him

They’d have to get this punishment forthcoming and then turn around next year and send another stallions to in person scout other games to get the death penalty tbf

Unfortunately, not really. You have to be on probation already, then still do the exact same stuff you got caught for. At least that was the case with SMU. A lot of people involved with the SMU death penalty now regret it, so I'm skeptical it'll ever be doled out again.

The only chance scUM could get the death penalty for this is if gambling is unearthed. That's a big no no.

But vacated wins, post-season bans and potential reduction in scholarships could occur. The last of which, I'm doubtful.

Still, watching UM meltdown before our very eyes is a gift that should be relished. You don't get this often and it appears this is the tip of the iceberg. The players are playing for games that don't count. Their past couple years of success will be vacated. Which puts Harbaugh in very strong position to leave and we can watch the program implode for a bit.

All of this is absolutely delectable.

USC didn't get the death penalty, but the scholarship reduction all but killed their program.

It might not be as bad now with the portal, but reductions are crippling.

They count to the players. Which is why someone needs to beat their asses. Hopefully Ohio State so they don't make the playoffs and get a shot at winning the whole thing.
It sure seems like a bowl ban and scholarship reductions are in Michigan's future, which is warranted. But they still should face consequences this season that extend beyond their head coach having to take four hours off on Saturday.

I agree with most of this, although I think scholarships are more likely than you.

If they would just have fallen on their sword and asked for forgiveness instead of all the "Bet!" and "Michigan v the World" and lawsuits, petitions etc... I'd think a lot different.

This is assuming, of course, that the evidence the NCAA says they have is really as damning as we think.
