I'd say no Studsill for us
I'm not sure how one would come to this conclusion. "Hey Devin, my name is coach Richt, you weren't good enough to get recruited when I was at UGA but now that I'm at Miami, we want to coach you."
There is no past relationship so why would this be better for Miami?
Like greyhammer said, his hire is going to generate hype. SEC coach returning to his alma mater.
Hell, even past players are already praising the hire.
I think Devin was waiting this whole time to see who was going to be hired at Miami. Now he knows, and it is my opinion that it doesn't end well for us.
It's not like it is some awful hire where it would be impossible to draw this conclusion.
As far as not being offered by Georgia - 247 doesn't show him as having ANY sec offers. As well as Georgia was heavily recruiting Shyheim Carter, Demetrius Robertson, and Nigel Warrior. All higher rated and projected as DBs (Robertson both ways but upside is on D, IMO).
You may disagree, but to say you can't understand my conclusion seems far fetched. He has known what we offer and he still hasn't jumped on board, even when our program is in much better shape.
I want him Irish no doubt, just doesn't feel like its going to happen, to ME.
- Returning to his Alma Mater because he was fired.
- Did you really expect another reaction from past "The U" players. They would've done this for any coach.
- Again, there is no previous relationship. Devin is a smart kid and he realizes who is recruiting him and why.
Yes, I think it is far fetched to assume that Devin is gone because Miami hired Richt. I imagine you'd probably be saying this if they hired just about any of the top candidates. DJ Durkin and Kirby Smart. They are great DC's who wouldn't want to play for them, etc.
Also, let me add that there is fairly strong ND push around Palm Beach Gardens, one of the reasons we got Coney.
Rich Rod's name coming up for the S. Carolina opening.
Here is my take on the USC gig.
AD Tanner is holding out hope that he can have a sit down with Tom Herman after the game this weekend and convince him to take the job. His Houston contract still hasn't been signed and Tanner is taking that as him still having a chance.
If Tanner can't get TH then Will Muschamp will get the job and Columbia will burn down the AD office...
If we lose BVG I don't know how I'll ever be able to sleep again.
Could happen that way. You probably know more about the happenings than I do since you are there in S. C. Hope it works out for them in the end.

No chance they let Muschamp walk through the stadium gates. Haha.
What is the appeal for van gorder to go to Miami?
