The 'hole' we're potentially in, is that in comparison to Michigan? Are they the presumed leader?

Per Christian at ISD, Cornell will indeed make it to ND later today. IMO, kind of a big deal. It's a lot of trouble for him to go out of the way for a very short visit and he has to drive back to MN tomorrow. Christian thinks we still have a great shot, and that Cornell has an extremely close relationship to onwualu. Has in the past even called them close to brother like status.

Huge. Go Irish!

What gave him or anyone the assumption that we "didn't" have a great shot at him? I know Diaco stalled us on him for a bit, but I still think he's a ND lean at this point. Having Hilliard a ND lean as well makes it that much more likely he'll sign with ND.

Michigan is definitely NOT leading for Cornell. It's a tighter race than I'd have expected, but I haven't seen anything that makes me believe ND isn't in the lead. Irish are still out front in my opinion. Just not enough from scUM's side to sway him. Didn't help that they were bad last year.

Michigan definitely WAS in the lead. Has that changed since BVG has arrived? Perhaps. It's been made clear that Michigan had the lead and still may because of Notre Dames lack of pursuit under Diaco.

I'm sorry, I just never got that vibe. He never verbally stated that Michigan lead, and I never had any indication that they were. There was a point where they caught up and were neck and neck, but I think BVG has tipped it back in our favor.

He's also never come out and stated that Notre Dame leads. Premium sites have given the edge to both in the past. His connection with James O and the new interest from BVG seem to have tipped the scales in our favor.

I believe it was after the BBQ that many thought Michigan had the advantage.

I always based my assumption that he was a ND lean on those connections and the relationship with the school, team and coaches. Diaco took away a very large margin of that, which allowed Michigan to get into it. The BBQ was big, but nowhere near as big of an impact his visits. Also note that he hasn't OFFICIALLY visited ND yet. Simply put, I'm banking on that. ND just makes a much bigger impact than Michigan on OV's. I also think that BVG is making a bigger impact on his recruitment than most give credit for. ND is definitely back out front, and the great news is, their lead is getting bigger. Not to mention Hilliard is a ND lean as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if he commits prior to the season, which would put another perk in ND's corner. They just have too much to offer him over Michigan.

I agree with much of this. Remember though that he's been to Michigan more then one time as well. I'd say the farther away from Diaco in this case, the better.

I think if it remains a Notre Dame/Michigan battle, Notre Dame wins. What scares me with both Cornell and Hilliard, are these upcoming visits to other schools. Florida, Florida State, etc. They know who to roll out the red carpet as well. Hopefully distance and coaching relationships are the difference.

Is a mod not going to take care of the comment above mine?

I'm more concerned about those for Cornell than Hilliard. Hilliard seems to be locked into his top 3, which is ND, Michigan and Iowa. I don't think he head south. Cornell is a little different, I think he could definitely open his recruitment up to southern schools. However, I was expecting him to do that when he went down south for the Rivals camp. That being said, Michigan is probably the biggest competition for Cornell, whereas Iowa I believe is the biggest competition for Hilliard.

Sean, no one has officialed anywhere yet. Literally, no one. We are behind the 8 ball on jashon. It's huge he is coming tonight but we have some ground to make up. This has been reported by a number of those in the know.

Sean, don't take this the wrong way but there are opinions and that's what your stating so make sure you say so. The things you post are by no means fact and in some cases not even close.

What the hell do I know, but, I would prefer to see him playing a little lighter right now.

He definitely has some bad weight on him right now. Is that easy for an 17-18 yr old to change of course. Not sure if it's intentional or not. It has moved him to SDE vs. WDE. So this position discussion that his camp is having with the staff is interesting. Where does he see himself?

I hope he makes it to campus. Imagine he'd get a lot of one on one time with coaches because it sounds like most recruits left.

Keep in mind that Jashon has Ted Johnson as a trainer. Floyd, Onwualu, and now, Cornell are receiving strength and conditioning from a trainer who does not believe in weights. Muscular looking does not always translate into athletic strength. I suspect that he does not have bad weight, as you call it, on him.

Jeez, What's up your ass?

He was obviously rude, but he has a point. You NEVER see things in anyone but ND's favor, which is your choice I guess, but then you pass off info that is just plain false AND then you dismiss blatant facts right in front of your face. Example, if Michigan was so bad on OV's compared to ND, how have they beaten us for recruits that we really wanted? I can go through so many of your posts where have been blatantly wrong, but yet in those posts you chastised myself and others for presenting facts that you chose to ignore.

I've said this before to you...I personally gave ZERP problems with your over-the-top positivity, but I do take issue for you presenting false info and also chastising people for for presenting an opposing position that is clearly much more likely.

And straight from a person who talks to Cornell, Michigan was leading and Diaco put ND in a hole. But continue to guess what you want...

While I respect your opinion, that's not what I stated at all. First off, I NEVER stated that this was fact. I clearly wrote that this was based on what I've seen so far. I may be ND biased, but I tell it how I see it. I'm not one of those over-optimists that is blathering about "I'm almost certain that JuJu Smith is coming to South Bend" and others like that. I thought ND was gonna lose Hill after Texas offered, thankfully that didn't happen. My optimism for Cornell derives from what I've seen so far. Nothing so far has me convinced that Michigan leads. Nothing. I have already admitted that ND lost ground because of Diaco, but I think you and everyone else is blowing that WAY out of proportion. I highly doubt they lost THAT MUCH ground. Enough for Michigan to get back in it? Sure. But to blow past ND? Hell no. It may sound biased, but that's how it is. Now that BVG is on board, ND is starting to gain ground again. So I will state again, IN MY OPINION, ND is leading and gaining ground in the race. I believe others have already stated, the longer his recruitment goes on, the better for ND.

When did I ever say what I stated was factual? I don't think I can be clearer in stating that it's my opinion.

There's about 200people on here who know more than I do, but from what I've read, I'd say strong to quite strong. OSU seems to be out of the picture, and all of the buzz is in ND's favor, and UM is our best competition I think.

You said a couple of weeks ago that it was a huge lead that ND had on everybody for Hilliard and Cornell. Which wasn't even close to true. So you expect us to believe what you say? Sorry man count me as the guy that doesn't.
