Are you really using this to try to make your point? How about adding in a visual of South Bend, IN?

Yes, quality of living is huge. If listen to people in the business, everyone of them has USC and Texas ahead of Alabama as a desirable coaching job, and many have Ohio State, Florida(s) ahead as well because of a combination of things (not just quality of life, although Florida >>> Alabama and I'd argue OSU as well).

ND isn't blowing Bama away with quality of life, but it's the holy grail of college football. Many people have ND ~ top 5 most desirable coaching job. I'm surprised so many people find that crazy? Hell, Keyshawn Johnson, a USC guy, said ND is definitely a top 5 job on TV last week (FWIW, he didn't think Alabama is a top 5 job. So he's an idiot too ;)).

Not directed towards you but yes Keyshawn Johnson is an idiot. Just because he's on TV doesn't make him a smart human being.

Let's get Skip Bayless, Dennis Rodman, and kuehja to argue with us why North Korea is a better place to live than the U.S.A.

I mean, after all, an argument CAN technically be made.

Just spit popcorn all over my desk laughing at that.

I hope my life never stoops so low that I'm pulling Keyshawn Johnson quotes to back me up.

It's not just Keyshawn Johnson, there are a ton of football people who believe Bama doesn't make the top 5 most desirable jobs.

Colin Cowerd also says they're closer to 10 than 5. I'm not going to defend myself anymore, because many more analysts agree with me than don't on this (and you can't claim bias because most media members SUPPORT everything SEC, yet they can list 5 more desirable jobs).

It's nice to see that when we disagree on something as ND fans and IE members, we still call names and belittle each other, rather than discuss or educate. For every shot taken at me, there hasn't yet been a single counter argument for Alabama being without a doubt a top 5 most desirable coaching job in college football. But the people who talk about this for a living and have more access than almost, if not everyone on here agree with me, so I'm done arguing.

I haven't called you any names.

You posted a picture of a mountain to claim you'd take another job over Alabama.

That's the crux of your argument.

That's not discussing or educating.

The truth is, like I said in a prior post, not every coach in the world would take the Alabama job, depending on the circumstances. But 99+% of coaches out there, if ultimately offered the Alabama job, would. Just like if people on earth were offered the chance to live in the USA, or North Korea, 99+% would pick the USA. Sure, somebody would pick North Korea. All of us on will IE stipulate that there are exceptions. But there's no point to arguing exceptions to rules-- it's a futile exercise. THAT is why people aren't discussing this with you.

If you're going to be an asshole, try to add something of substance with it. Tell me why Alabama is without a doubt one of the top 5 best coaching jobs in the county.
#3 most valuable Football Program (Behind Texas and ND)in 2013 despite its relatively small state population. Its value has risen 20% since 2009.
College Football's Most Valuable Teams 2013: Texas Longhorns Can't Be Stopped - Forbes

ranked 2nd behind Oregon in contributions at $33 million. It got $21 million from conference payout.
» Boosters

It has massive history and football crazy fans.

They are a fucking good team with no end in sight.

They have a school president who will do anything to keep the program at the top level.

The school will give massive power and control to the coach.

They pay all of their coaches really, really, really, well.

Boosters, former players, and the surrounding business community will furnish your players with furniture and other arrangements with or with out the schools knowledge (this is a very important concept and is highly acceptable to both players and the school).

Alabama is actually a very nice place to live. I am not sure if you have ever been there.

Alabama Facilities tour
Alabama's new football facility: A photo tour - SBNation.com (I can still remember Weis talking about the guys playing the Xbox in the lounge...lol)

But hey I am just being an asshole.

You know I love you man but I gotta disagree with you on this one. Bama is Top 5 when discussing CFB jobs.

keunja im a nyc guy born and raised, but ive actually been to alabama on some exctended work stays last decade or so...and i can tell you---its definitely not as bad you think.
like you, i had my doubts about the place but have to admit it i was pleasantly suprised with it.
hung in the b-ham burbs primarily during the week, with some golf junkets on the Robt Trent Jones trail courses on weekends.

people couldnt have been nicer, and some fine women too. like everywhere yu get the wackos but like i said theyre everyehere inclusing wherver you live. good lord i know weve got em here. but the good always outweighs the bad.

we all do it and have fun with it, but its always good practice to try and not judge or sterotype a place youve never been, or a people youve never met. plus that bama job is even better (without doubt top 5 job) since saban got there. foundation is set for continued future success.

Kuehnja - all these analysts that you keep quoting need to attract attention to themselves. If they say Alabama is a top five job, that doesn't get them any attention. Saying Alabama is not a top five job will get people talking about their opinion. It's all about ratings - not about being accurate.

^^^^Exactly this!

Plus, there's the little tidbit that guys like Keyshawn (Meshawn) Johnson and colin cowherd aren't, you know, actual football coaches.

I've been to Birmingham. Not that bad a place. Kuenja you need to stop listening to Colin Cowherd. Without a doubt the most ignorant radio personality out there. He says things just to get listeners.

Would you take the time to explain weather systems, ocean currents, and atmospheric conditions to someone who claims its going to rain gumdrops later this afternoon?

Alabama is a fine place to live. No offense to ND because the campus is awesome but if I had to choose living in South Bend or Tuscaloosa for the rest of my life it wouldn't really be a question.

Alabama fans may be crazy. But they are crazy only about winning. ND fans are crazy, plus you have to graduate everyone, plus you have to kiss alumni ass, plus you can't cuss too much, plus GOD HELP YOU if you leave the stadium before saying 3 Our Fathers, singing the alma mater, and doing an irish jig.

Or 90 percent of coaches wanna win and get paid well doing it at a prestigious program. And of course I exaggerated that lack of a basis of an argumen by posting those pictures. That was the point.

Edit: and btw this is not keuhnja's first ludicrous opinion rodeo. He has a nice long track record.
