I have the Fratelli's CD, Costello... something, I can't remember. I figured the band was Italian but they are from Glasgow and fans of Celtic FC, that's why they used the song.

One other bit of useless info: '66 was a great year for the Celtic peoples. The world was treated to Celtic FC's Euro Cup Championship, yet another Irish National Championship and the birth of the pride & joy of the Scots-Irish people, the one and only Crusader.

Done blown through that... Got my eyes set on 52. With some luck and a lot less one possession Irish losses, I might make it.

Just looked up the '66 game with MSU, I was 6 months old, still preferring milk in my bottle over Falstaff or Old Style. The game was played on my Mom's 21st birthday... who sadly passed away 32 years ago today just a couple of miles down road from the University.

Costello Music, I have that CD as well... The Hawks were the first American team to use it that I can remember... but it was a few years after Celtic. I didn't know if they were fans or not, just that they were from Glasgow so I figured it was a 50/50 shot.

Any good matchups to keep an eye on this week? Any educational film breakdowns for either team? This site used to be good for more than people b****ing about our coach.

In all seriousness though, is there a good place (here or elsewhere) that I can watch some good educational film breakdowns of ND? I love learning more of the intricacies of the game but I never seem to find that stuff here. I think I remember someone reposting a Texas film breakdown from shaggybevo (I think) after the 2015 opener that I loved. I think it would be awesome if we had a "Film Breakdown" thread where we could post and discuss game film from ND, our opponents, or even other offenses with novel concepts we wish the staff would adopt (like fullbacks!).

You would have to pay for it but Jamie on ISD does some great work on the film breakdowns.

thanks to everyone for the helpful responses. I listened to the bgi podcast over lunch. The MSU guest writer they had on wasn't terribly confident in the msu OL and sounded concerned about NDs DL. If we can control the LOS on D, this could shape up to be an interesting test for the secondary - maybe their first all year. I'm fairly confident in our corners but sure hope our safeties can hold up in coverage. For MSU having such a hard-nosed, run-first identity, they may be the first team to really test us through the air. Here's to hoping we're up to the task!

Yes.

People keep talking about how well our defense has played, but we've seen 3 offenses that aren't exactly world beaters and the performance against BC was dreadful. This is going to be a good "show me" game for ND on both sides of the ball... MSU is rested and at home with a lot going for them.

I think this is such a perfect game for us right now. They're not Georgia on either side of the ball, but they're similar in style. It's on the road. It's at night. We're facing the most-mobile QB we have so far. All of this, but on paper we're the better team.

I'm headed to this game.. from metro-Detroit so quite an easy drive. My fiancée went to state so will be tailgating with a bunch of Spartans.. plan to wear the most obnoxious yellow ND shirt I own. I've been to quite a few games in EL and almost all of the night games.. while this game won't be as rowdy as the Friday night opener usually is (didn't have one this year..).. it gets pretty crazy. Especially after a bye week to prep their livers. Expect a loud stadium.. hope for an early score or two until the drunk passes to a buzz and should be smooth sailing. Go Irish!

Dex has so much explosiveness. I honestly think he deserves/is good enough, to get as many touches as Josh does. Still can't get over not using him against UGA. But he has to get some looks tomorrow night.
