I live in Ga and this will be a nasty hostile environment the likes Notre Dame sees only a few times. This is different from sc/va tech/even mich-its more like Miami with a more orchestrated fan involvement and music right up until the snap of the ball. It will be hot humid and a real test of your concentration-of course this is what you sign up for when you play for Notre Dame I'm just telling you they are waiting to lay one on our guys. They want to make a statement at Notre Dame's expense. A win here would be one of the best in the history of the program. They know Notre Dame is a historical program with a very good team these days but the believe they are light years better-like I said I've been there a few times and they are arrogantly waiting. It will be similar to playing at Clemson or LSU. They will run up the score no matter what. Buckle up because I've heard people say they'll win by 30. I hope I'm wrong but this one could get ugly.

I actually feel we have a legitimate shot to win. Sure the environment will be loud, but VT is supposed to be one of the toughest places to play and we thumped them and that was since UM. Weather won't be a factor since it's a night game. Our lads have shown they know how to play in nationally televised night road games.

I do business with a company located in Marietta. They know I'm a big ND fan and are looking into getting me a pair of tix. Fingers crossed.

I'm not here to convince you otherwise but why do you think that? Vegas has the line at 11.5, which means they consider us more likely to win than lose by 30.

What about this team is so scary? Their OL sounds elite and their RBs are really, really good. True questions: Is their QB elite? Which of their defensive units would you classify as elite? For this team to get dominated by 30, we need to play a team with many elite units.

Fun Fact: Oklahoma was an -11 against us in 2012. Means nothing really but just putting it out there.

There was nothing scary about that 2017 Miami team and they thumped us. You have to go all the way back to OU 2012 to find a marquee road win. Athens cannot wait for this game and I think home field advantage is a very important factor.

I don't know if Fromm is an elite quarterback but he's at least on par with Book, and likely better. As you said their run game is fantastic and the areas of our defense you can't trust yet are the interior DL and LBs.

I think it will be more like FSU 2014 than Miami 2017 but I don't think it's that farfetched to envision a beatdown.

Last time we had a road game against a top ten team was Miami 17 and we know how that turned out. And I don't even think Miami was that good. I think we're gonna be good this year but I could also see us getting boatraced against UGA, they're going to be well up for it.

I think it'll be a close loss for us, but I think there's a better chance that they beat us by 30 than there is of us winning, if I'm being honest.

Yes Miami in 17 was bad. But we went down to the wire on the road against Clemson and Stanford in 2015, Florida State in in 2014. I suspect this game will be more like those - effectively a tossup - than us getting trounced.
I’m sure Georgia will be enthusiastic but it’s not like we’ve never seen that before. We’ll also have plenty of time to prepare, which I think helps in this sort of game.

Ok. I don't think it's farfetched to imagine an overconfident Georgia team running into a buzzsaw. I could just as easily envision a game where we trade blows in the first half and then we start to pull away in the 3rd quarter because their guys are getting tired and our 3 sets of DEs are still fresh from all of the subbing. And our secondary is ballhawking. And Fromm looks like Costello last year.

Agree. I think Miami was an aberration and BK said after that they addressed it in meetings and preparation. The VT game is a good example that things are different.

Fromm is a quality guy that would start at ND every year Kelly has been here.

I think ND will be just fine as long as they bring a good mentality. We all remember the Miami debacle.

This, my friend, might be the first time we disagree...on anything in life. The right mentality isn't going to help an undersized and inexperienced ND front 7 (minus Okwara and Kareem) against a Georgia O line that averages 322 pounds.

I don't see ND getting crushed by 30, but if the Georgia offense can run, control clock, and keep ND's offense on the bench...could be a long night for the Irish.

I'm not completely ruling out the chance of an ND upset, but it's possible they put us away with nothing but inside running plays. If the middle of our defense can't step up, then they have the personnel to win on that alone, and the edges are going to get worked so our DE talent is going to have to answer the bell when they get creative.

I'm seeing this more of an offensive battle if we're in it since I think we can score with them, but I think our D Line is going to get pushed to its limits.

We'll see. I'm ALWAYS bullish on ND. It'll be a tough challenge. I'm looking forward to balling out with the boys in NYC at the ND bar here.

I expect it to be a good game. Georgia is the Notre Dame of the South. Perennial failures on the big stage. Might be two irresistible failures running into each other hahahaha

I think ND will be just fine as long as they bring a good mentality. We all remember the Miami debacle.

1) I'll gladly take Book over Fromm right now. Book is surgically precise in the short-to-medium range game, similar to Fromm. Book has inconsistencies in the long game, but so does Fromm. Book is a better athlete who can do more with his legs and I think does a bit better of a job making plays on the run. It's close but I'm giving the edge to Book.

2) I've said it before, but nobody is touching the environment of that Miami game. It was an environment unparalleled even by big-time SEC schools. It wasn't just an insanely loud and hostile environment, it was violent and depraved. Fans throwing bottles and getting into fist fights were the norm throughout the game. I'm kind of a surprised none of their fans started a bonfire in the stadium. It was chaotic in every worst way. If I wasn't so utterly livid at the way ND was playing, I'd be concerned for the lives of the fans in that crowd. I pity them for having to endure such a sight. It may have been a high point for Miami football over the past decade, but it was a low point in terms of class, to put it mildly. This game will be closer to what ND witnessed in Tallahassee in 2014, which they handled fairly well all things considered, but amped up a few pegs. It'll be loud, unruly and hostile. But it won't be venomous a la Miami.

New IE rule. No more talking about that Miami game. It was the "Perfect Storm", was addressed and we haven't had another road game since then that even remotely resembles it.

322 pounds? All the easier for us to run around. (half italics, maybe)

I agree. I think UGA controls the game w/ the rush & then pulls away w/ play action. IF they beat Georgia in Athens, it could be the biggest victory for ND since FSU in 1993. Sorry, while the win in Norman over OU was impressive & BK’s signature win, the Sooners weren’t much outside the B12 and got shellacked by TAMU in their bowl game.

322 pound O-line is a bigger factor if you don't have DL depth. Our rotation on DL will be the ones wearing down OL this year. I expect by game 5 we have solidified the middle of the DL and our LB kinks worked out. I'll be taking the under on this one, more likely we lose by 3 in some BS end of game shenanigans than lose by 20. F FSU btw. Entire state of Florida can suck rocks while we are at it.

Just don't break the windshield of the team bus with a bottle on the way in - then we will play scared all night.

Watch us beat Georgia and then they go 8-4 and the SEC homers are all “Notre Lame! Too skeered to play Florida!”

Their running game against our inexperienced interior defense is a serious concern. But if we can protect Book and move the ball we should be able to keep it close. One-score game and we’ll have a shot at the end.

LOL! We do tend to hear that after a good season don’t we? I can’t see this UGA team going 8-4 but crazier things have happened. What would be worse is a loss to a Georgia team that goes 8-4.

If anyone has two extras, I’ll do a naked lap.

Just kidding, but they’re for my boss, a big ND guy. Would greatly appreciate it. Hope everyone is well.

When Georgia came to visit I figured they would smack us around as well. I definitely felt they were faster and more athletic than us for sure but ND lost by 1. That was almost a W for ND. I feel like this year both teams are better and to predict the outcome is crazy. I'd never bet on this game. We could roll by 21 as easy as we could get rolled by 21. Or it could be a nail biter. I just really hope that we can shoe the world we can play with top team. Then roll to Michigan and whoop dat azz!

Legitimately not a prayer in the world we win by 21.
