I catch most of his pressers and I have to say the way he was swaying and playing with his hands seemed different than in the past. As if he wanted to just burst out "I am so ready to kick Temple's ass".

Could just be me wanting that to be the case. Either way, F*ck Michigan

It was definitely a strange presser from the perspective of his mannerisms. I don't necessarily think I would read it as "Wow he's so pumped" but he was acting differently. Honestly he seemed out of breath and antsy up there. Very unBK, who normally looks like a natural politician.

That was the most underachieving team I can think of.

They steamrolled multiple opponents, handed MSU their only loss of the season, could have easy beaten a strong 10-2 USC team, were stomping Michigan before Denard voodoo took over, and were a passable QB away from beating 4th ranked Andrew Luck led Stanford at the farm.

Obviously everything came together the next year, but that team didn't have Harrison Smith, Robert Blanton, and Jamoris Slaughter, Trevor Robinson, Jonas Gray, or Michael Floyd. Some real good players there.

Actually that was 2013 MSU. In 2011 Sparty still (inexplicably) lost to Nebraska and Wiscy in the B1G Championship Game due to a roughing the punter call. Without that penalty, they had already returned the punt to easily be in field goal range for a Rose Bowl matchup vs Oregon

10am NHC advisory projects Harvey taking a more easterly track coming out of LA. It's supposed to head into Mississippi then on to central WV and PA.

I thought Wooly was being mean when he said something about how Hansen is an embarrassment to ND. I'm actually on board now, at least try for goodness sake. That tie is a joke. Get on a treadmill, you're part of the media.

Wooly is going to lose it, lol. Longo definitely got a hold of Hansen.

GD it man.... how does this fat slob still have a job? It's not like he is the best at what he does and is irreplaceable. He is embarrassing the rest of the guys that are professional and representing Notre Dame media with class. I credit him for at least ditching the wrinkly polo and white Oakleys, but shit man... I honestly don't think he is capable of cleaning himself up. He is a slob to his very core.

He did, and it was clear they have no plans on sliding him to a 3 tech. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. If teams are steamrolling through the interior, Hayes will be taking reps a 3 tech with a smile on his face.

I actually like the move putting the freshman at 2nd string. Everyone who attended practice noticed Hinish has a unique motor. Literally going so hard he throws up. If there is a fine line in skill level, I'll take a high motor young kid at DT. He'll win more battles than he loses if he puts out like that on every play. The message to the defensive line should be clear this season - none of you are great (aside from Daelin maybe), 100% effort is the person who plays and keep Nyle's clean.

I think they're trying to red shirt him.

I've said it multiple times, he reminds me of Chris Zorich.

I don't think the defense is going to be spectacular by any means this season, but it can't be any worse than last year.

Looking at his followup tweets he's just extrapolating from last year's roster and results.

Yep, that's what I saw. I'm guessing he's really wanting to get into this season so he can quit fielding f*ck1ng questions about last season. Yes it was a failure. Yes he admits it was on him as head coach.

Yeah after reading the follow-up tweets I'm thinking this more of a lazy hot take

This defense will not be giving up 35+ pts./game. That's lazy and quite frankly stupid reporting.

On the DT conversation, BK made it very clear that they aren't going to be relying on Hinish and MTA to play a lot of snaps. Now injuries could change that but I don't think we have to worry about them playing 30 snaps/game, while on the field together at the same time.

Why is Freddy Canteen listed as a starter? Did he ever run with the ones, at least since the first week of fall camp? I never heard his name again besides people saying his shifty/fast.

Is this bs?

I read it as Kelly being nice to the transfers and treating the experienced guys as incumbents. I am willing to bet the WR depth chart for game #2 will be different.

I f*cking hate it if so. I want the most talented guys out there. This is going to be another sh!t show if we start rewarding age vs talent. (obviously they need to be bought in, making every rep count, yada yada).

Game day can't get here soon enough.

Right, and if 2 injury prone transfers can walk in and both take starting WR roles (one who wasn't even on a football team last year), what the hell does that say about ND's WR recruiting and development?

I'm hoping it's a smoke screen, and Claypool along with Finke/Young/ big guy who's #81 that I cannot think of right now take over.

I agree, I think the two transfer guys have "been there, done that" so they can help get BW off to a good start.

Don't want inexperienced WR's in conjunction with a new QB going against a good secondary.

I just don't get this idea at all. Wimbush has worked with Claypool for a while now. And ESB and all of our WRs. What does inexperience have to do with it? He should be familiar with everyone at this point.

Now put the (hard working) talent on the field and let the chips fall.

As to Koon, I don't look at this as an indictment of our WR talent but more of the same from past seasons. I hope this is a smokescreen and Claypool blows by them a few times before they realize he's the Canuck who was listed as 2nd string.

As to offense and WRs: I have to believe that Long has made the call as to whom he wants starting play one. Those guys must have shown Long that they have mastered the new offense (everyone to some degree was learning new this time.)

As to the defense: I will believe that what I saw at Wake Forest last two years indicates that Elko is a rare genius, until it is clearly proved not to be so. I'll be watching for the Bud Foster-type style, where if the opponents' offense starts well, he adjusts quickly and begins running the opposition backwards as the game goes.

As my brother says: Foster will figure it out (if the first series or two don't go well.)

As I'm planning on saying: Elko will figure it out. ND will roll.

Also possible they are saving part of the playbook and "jumbo" receiver package for the dawgs
