Of course. Still useful to us for the Michigan data, which is presumably more accurate.

Another walk-on with the same last name. I assume it's the OL's younger brother.

Ryan, Jr 6'4", 290, younger brother of Graham, Sr, offensive lineman. Putting Ryan as the starter is funny, and ironic as hell, because he is listed as 4th team on depth charts, prior to ApState. (And that is why the Michigan Analyst practically gave Martin and Lombard oral sex.)

I think their middle down linemen are softer than expected, and I think Jake Ryan is limited, and half the linebacker he was, prior to his injury. Feck Michigan up the middle!

I do like the fact that we have LBs who can catch a Gardner if he takes off.

If the D-line can keep them from going right up the gut, we should be in good shape.

I'm worried about our D but if Golson plays how he did last week we have a chance. This game IMO can be the difference between looking at this season in a positive or negative manner. If we lose this game barring an NC game appearance or big bowl win it will be hard not to allow this blemish to make you feel like this season is a failure. I know if we come up short we can still beat other rivals but this would be a huge blow thankfully I'm off this Saturday and can drink during the game to calm my nerves. God bless my wife.

I don't know if 'failure' is the right word, but the notion that this weekend really impacts the season outlook more than maybe any other singel game is very fair imo... in fact that's usually the case with the UM game.

MGOBlog's analysis of our offense v Rice is excellent. Highly recommended. Lots of good graphics and charts, like this one:

It's a shame ND doesn't have a site which offers the same level of comprehensive film breakdown.

That IS nice. F*ck Michigan.

I hope that Brian Kelly runs up the score if he has the chance.

It would be the most perfect of perfect days for me if we were all class EXCEPT for running up an outrageous score on them.

"Great game, you really gave it your all. Sorry to hang 62 on you, our boys were just awfully spirited today."

According to them, Amir is the returning starter and would fill in for Cam if necessary.

That is true. But in all fairness, I counted seven mistakes. Didn't get the just brushed feeling like I get from Sean Mele, or Coach T. Or Coach B, for that matter.

(Although, I was really dejected at a couple of the ND sites laying the blame for the TD's on one player, when they obviously didn't know.)

I hope, for once in our life, we show their visiting fans no sportsmanship. It has always bothered me that we treat all visiting fans with respect, but at cesspools like Ann Arbor we routinely have fans assaulted, harassed, and otherwise mistreated. Ask any Notre Dame fan who has gone to games there... their conduct is thoroughly abhorrent.

I hope that Brian Kelly runs up the score if he has the chance.

I hope that Kelly doesn't shake Hoke's hand after that fat motherfuckers comments... sadly, I know he has too much class for that. But for the coach of the team that literally chickened out 4 separate times to run his mouth about us exercising the out clause of a contract to accelerate the end of a series that was already ending and have his fan base of mouthbreathers lap it up is infuriating.

I hope we never play Michigan again. Except in lacrosse, where we'd absolutely woup that ass.

Yes, all of this. Let's not make them feel welcome and then regret it for the rest of our lives. Fuck them.

Yeah I've had many an 80 year old pure Michigan man give me the middle finger for just wearing an ND jersey. I'm staying in a house with a 6 ND fans and 4 Michigan fans so I'm going to have to behave.

Also, about Michigan's offense. Half of their running came on two breakaway plays. Well almost half. Take those two big plays out and now look and see how their running game looked. Then figure the difference in size between Michigans o-line and the AppState defenders!

Michigan fans are beginning to make the changes, and warp reality like the Irish fans did during the dark years!

I have said this a number of times... I really hope we never play them again, ever.

Poor Tommy... he was so frustrating, but in reality ND was super blessed to have him, it would have been much worse without... but yeah, that's pretty funny.

I think their middle down linemen are softer than expected, and I think Jake Ryan is limited, and half the linebacker he was, prior to his injury. Feck Michigan up the middle!

Agreed on both accounts. I think we'll see a steady dose of Inside Zone and Power-O. If we have some success running between the tackles, UM is going to have a hard time keeping the score down.

I do like the fact that we have LBs who can catch a Gardner if he takes off.

Which is a major change from the last 4 years.

If the D-line can keep them from going right up the gut, we should be in good shape.

I honestly can't see an interior OL of Magnuson, Glasgow and Kalis gouging us up the middle, even with Schmidt at MLB. UM's OL was hot trash last year, and those guys got a lot of snaps. Are we to believe that they've suddenly become competent after losing Lewan and Schofield? Nothing they showed against App. State frightened me either. From Murtaugh's preview:

Michigan fans feel better after giving up just 1 sack and rushing for 350 yards against Appalachian State. However, they did allow 6 tackles for loss to a Sun Belt team (with FCS talent) and their run game was fairly hot and cold. For example, 121 of Derrick Green's 170 yards last weekend came on 2 carries. That's impressive to rip off long runs but he also had 7 runs go for 1-yard or fewer. Producing 170 yards tells me Michigan was more talented than App State but with that many pedestrian runs they didn't flat out dominate.

Given the massive gap in talent and athleticism between those two teams, that's embarrassing for UM.

Lastly, it's worth noting that we essentially beat ourselves in 2010, 2011 and 2013 with catastrophic defensive meltdowns (thanks, Diaco!) That could of course happen again--the blown coverages against Rice weren't encouraging--but I don't get the sense that BvG is going to choke in his first major game as ND's DC.

There was a poster who commented on someone's post about this game about two months ago (I can't remember username or thread).

This isn't verbatim, but it was something like 'Hell yeah! I'll fight everybody from Michigan. Let's go to jail, I don't give a fuck bro!'.

I don't think he was joking. We need to find that guy some tickets, lol. I'd honestly pitch in $20.

I can already see the headline: "Creepy Man Distributes Pictures of 'Stud Running Back', Incites Riot" with the tag line "Calls Himself 'the Koon'"

Seems a bit wordy. That writer should work on his craft.

I've got some disposable income... if someone would promise to just go around fighting people and wrecking tailgates, I'd fly them in for sure. 100% serious, no italics.

I'd want video proof though of the wreckage.

Yes and yes. Most hostile tailgating environment I've ever encountered, which is weird considering they love to tell us they how we AREN'T their biggest rivals. The hate was astonishing.

Translation - Bet the farm on ND to cover. Michigan is in line for an embarrassing, prime time, arse whoopin'.
