I didn't need 12 posts to tell you that it was a dumb reference.

Half of this board would say ND has a 3 headed monster at RB since all 3 will play, and 2 are proven where as one is expected to be big time and surpass Adams according to some outlets.

No reason to be an ass because of semantics.

You were talking up the opposition. It is my god-given responsibility to discredit any unproven notion that they might have redeeming qualities in their backfield behind the sophomore phenom, and to do so as obnoxiously as possible.

I think you'll like what you see from their backfield on the 17th. Two are back and proven, and apparently there's a 3rd that will be taking carries from them. Sorry I do not know his blood type. Regardless, 2 backs is enough in CFB if they are healthy. They'll have a really good backfield and that's all that really matters.

“Those top three guys, they’re all capable of carrying the ball 30 times a game and being the feature back,” coach Mark Dantonio said. “That’s a good problem to have if you’re the coach.”

3-headed monster? Or just a crowd in Michigan State backfield?

We should create a thread entitled the Daily Piss where everyone can go for their pissing matches. You could also call it the Daily Butthurt.

It's MSU. Of course they're gonna have talented running backs, or at least a great running game. I was trying to be overly-facetious about their unknown 3rd guy since you referenced them as a three-headed monster.

Anywho, we are built to stop the run. It's mobile QB's and pass-heavy schemes that will worry me. So I hope I'm NOT impressed on the 17th. I hope you aren't, either, since that means your trip will accompany a victory.

Agree. Where people who just want to argue can nit pick and take subtle shots at posters. Would be a great dump.

I'm just over here trying to downplay Sparty in the Texas thread. Can't I just have this?

If you’ve read your TTF, you also know that the Notre Dame front four is huge and features two future NFL draft picks in 320 pound NT Jarron Jones and 290 pound SDE Isaac Rochell.

Does anyone know (Texas posters are you out there?) what their projected starting 5 OL were, pre-injuries? When there's an injury reported I don't know if it's a projected starter or not unless he's name Malik Jefferson.

You serious? That's a Texas website, and it says 3-out-of-5 starters right there in their Tweet.

I'm asking who are the two remaining, and crossing my fingers that they're part of the frosh/RS frost group that was pushing for PT on the OL.

Ahhh I see. Tweet those Barking Carnival guys. They seem like a fun bunch that would be pleased to discuss their OL issues further haha

I'm getting more and more confident.

They should destroy the Horns up front. And pressure on that fish QB and turnover machine Swoopes, should be enough to hide our secondary issues.

One thing that worries me is that if Nyles Morgan actually isn't what we think/hope he is, then we are in a heap of trouble on defense.

The more I read into the confidence of everyone surrounding our run game, the more I'm starting to believe in our ability to put up big points.

I still think the loss of Fuller will hurt the run game but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Kelly said ESB was a gazelle, I hope some of our other players are similar.

A true freshman will almost never react perfectly to a Mike blitzing the A gap. And that's definitely what Nyles can do at minimum.

One of the injured guys was a true frosh expected to start. Now a different true frosh will be playing in his stead, if I understood the Texas board**

**big if, I was just casually assessing their confidence in the game.

It sounds like their OL is in trouble, and with that being the case, I hope BVG finds a way to rotate Elijah Taylor/Tiassum/Trumbetti/Daelin Hayes/Bonner in DURING the game, not after it's in hand, so they can get experience/confidence/we can see what they're made of. We're going to need at least 2-3 of them to play big boy minutes this year.

One thing I've not liked about BK is I feel he's hesitant to give a few snaps to the backups during the game, and waits til it's in hand to give them experience. And since we rarely blow anyone out... Greg Bryant, Nyles Morgan come to mind. Would also like to see the backup DBs get some real minutes during the game.

Greg would never get in the game until it was over.

He only had one healthy year. That year (2014), he was 3rd on the team in carries, and second in yards. And he did not get the mop up time. That was the year that Cam McDaniel was the guy that Kelly turned to, to protect the lead.

I expect the defensive line to rotate quite a bit this year. Rochelle will be the only one who plays nearly every snap b/c they'll move him inside on passing downs. Fresh legs may be the only path to the QB this year.

ND will roll in this game if we play mistake-free football and control both LOS. TX will come out on a rampage, but once ND weathers the storm, they'll be able to settle in and dominate. I'm honestly not worried one bit about TX. I think they're horrible.

As opposed to whom?

I mean wouldn't anyone who played mistake-free football and controlled the line of scrimmage?

Inquiring minds want to know.
