What time is everyone getting to the stadium? I was planning on arriving (by car) at 4ish but I'm worried that might be too late...

Syracuse is 26th against the run, giving up 103 yards per game, and 58th against the pass, giving up 220 yards per game. So I expect to see Kelly throw early and often, and then try to ram the ball down the Orange's throat, on the ground.

Meanwhile, Syracuse's passing offense is 101st in the country, gaining 192.7 yards per game. Their rushing offense is 34th, gaining 265 yards per game. So I expect to see a lot of man coverage from ND, with the extra defender(s) staying close to the line of scrimmage to help support against the run.

Watch out for Syracuse to run play action, with the back slipping out of the backfield, and hoping to end up matched up with a LB, on a passing route. I would also expect Syracuse to run a lot of motion, to try to confuse the man coverage in the secondary.

That's our time frame as well. The first car in our group is getting there at 3:30 but my car wasn't planning on heading in till 4, 4:30. I can't imagine it being insane by that time, but with the great weather and big local fan bases who knows.

Offense is fairly sluggish today, and run game fails to establish its identity yet again.

Golson forced into first turnover of the season, but calms himself after a shakey first half.

Brindza is flawless today, bringing his A game, and special teams is awesome at containment, but merely adequate on returns.

Defense gives up scores, but controls the 4th.

I think their defense stats are misleading. They opened against Nova an FCS team. CMU has a bona fide rusher in Rawls but he did not play because of legal issues. Without him they have no rushing attack. CMU's QB has been abysmal in all but the Purdue game. He was worse against SYR without Rawls rushing. UMD's primary rusher is their QB.

SYR is 2-1 against a softer schedule than ND has faced, barely winning against Nova, romping over the Rawl-less CMU, and going down against a mediocre UMd.

ND's worse RB starts ahead of the collective stable of RBs SYR has faced. Likewise Golson is a better runner than QB SYR has seen. He's also the best passer among those QBs.

ND can go long over the top to set up the run or run to set up the pass against SYR, regardless of which musical chair the OLs occupy at the snap.

Golson struggles to get going, not because of him, but because of drops. Run game non existent until 4th when Kelly leaves GB in and just starts using him like a work horse.

Defense holds their own but gives up a big play early.

Drew Sharp already pushed us into his Top 25 last week. We're at #23, still below the 2-1 USC Trojans at #17. and 3-1 ASU at #8.
