Yeah, but "the committee" was not unbiased. The committee was very concerned about head-to-head, apparently, but Mike Riley played at Bama and his bio on the CFP website says that he was on the 1973 Bama "national championship team," while Ivan Maisel voted ND 6th in 1993 even though they beat FSU.

Hunter Yuracheck was an SEC AD who made money for the SEC, and therefore for Arkansas (and possibly for himself, depending on the language in his contract) by arranging to have Alabama play OU, rather than ND play OU. Oh, and he fired his HC the day after ND went to Fayetteville and beat them. Did Arkansas' portion of the CFP check help with the buyout?

Now, I don't know for sure how any of these people voted, because it's a secret. But I know which way I'm betting.

Oh, and ESPN effectively runs the committee, and ESPN has a contract with the SEC. Putting more SEC teams in financially benefits ESPN.

Out of the 16 arrested, only 3 were representatives of SEC schools. Saban is not happy about it as he thinks they deserve at least 5 slots.

Who was more likely to win a ship last year? The three loss team that got stomped in their last game and needed a miracle to beat a 7-loss opponent? Or the team on a 10 win streak, all by double digits, that was the last to beat national champion Indiana (also by double digits)?

Since the only thing keeping Alabama relevant in modern football is ESPN's investment, I'm looking forward to the day we don't have to hear about them anymore.
