There is zero way for russia to win this war other than for completely destroying all of Ukraine. And that would be at the cost of their military and economy being destroyed. Russia will become a welfare state

Sorry I don't get hard watching a country get ruined. Ukraine was already the definition of a shithole. That's not getting better anytime soon.

My parents got exchange students from Poland. Even they make fun of Ukraine. Russia, Belarus, and Russia are all the definition of white trash counties.

I hope they stop killing each other

So they’re a shithole of a country! Who cares that Poland makes fun of them? Doesn’t mean those people deserve to have their country demolished and their citizens murdered. And none of us get hard over this. We just appreciate how they refuse to concede.

I'm the one asking for them to find a deal that both can work with without the world getting drenched in radiation. Would you send your kid to die for Kiev? How bout your Dad? Your cousin? Your nephew? The answer will always be no. Slavs do slav things. Leave them alone. They aren't and have never been worth our time, particularly those east of Warsaw.

Not really, it’s easier to defend than to attack. You have greater attrition coming at someone than holding ground.

Not sure why you keep bringing up nuclear war. Putin’s not dumb enough to pull the trigger. As OMM said bombing with a nuclear weapon would waste all the territory he wants and he risks the NATO countries stepping in at that point.

It also gives him pleasure to piss people off and direct attention ---- just like Kuehnja/Koonja/Koon used to do.
It should be beneath any of our dignities to correspond with a person who refers to whole countries and their
people as trash. I'll bet that lots of us on IE have connections to folks in or from Eastern Europe. All of these
countries have rich histories and wonderful real people. Let his inhumane prejudices die unanswered.

I bring up nuclear war because that's a very realistic possibility if NATO gets overly involved.

Further, he could nuke parts of Ukraine he is indifferent towards (the western side). I don't think that will happen.

Not really. NATO has shown no inclination they will be stepping in. Besides Putin doesn’t want any nukes raining down on himself.

Easy to say that when you aren't the dictator guy who got himself into a mess. The longer this goes and the more dead Russians there are, the more Russia (Putin) may be willing to escalate.
