You think Jack looked like a doomed man? I thought he was as swaggy as I've ever seen him. That shot of Jack walking down the sideline like a doomed man while we were manhandling Michigan gave me a queasy feeling.

The 5 are still out for a reason and it's not just because admins hate football. My guess is something deeper is at hand and Jack knows it. I hope I'm wrong, I was about last night's game.
Did I miss something?Been trying to avoid thinking about that, but there is definitely a chance the "worst case scenario" is far worse than will the 5 come back or be dismissed.

Clearly we are due for a bombshell, people have already had their 12 hours to savor a huge win and start to feel the upward trajectory of the program....time for a deep groin kick to straighten things back out
NoIs this true?

Can someone post what's going on? What's this about a ban coming from NCAA? I'm on the road so I appreciate if someone will catche up.

Sad commentary on the psyche of an Irish fan that italics were necessary there. Sorry mah dudes. Can someone post what's going on? What's this about a ban coming from NCAA? I'm on the road so I appreciate if someone will catche up.
As we headed to walk into the stadium, I saw Father Jenkins
. I shook his hand and said hi. He asked my name, where I lived, and if I was alumni. He seemed very nice and for him to give me 15 seconds was very nice. But believe me, I wanted to call him out about the ND 5. Just couldn't do it.
Just because this thread is giving me diabetes, if you guys want to smile go look at the crystal balls on the Irish 247 home page. Oh and thanks Michigan![]()

This issue has a lot less urgency now that we've beaten UM. I want the process to be thorough and fair to all parties involved. Football fans can howl all they want but they have absolutely no skin in the game except for cheap emotionalism. Last night proved these players are not essential to peak performance. Sure, we're better with them than without them but the football tail can't wag the honor code dog.
I dearly hope there are no further posts on this thread before a decision is rendered. At least 5800 of the 5810 posts so far have been pretty much worthless in communicating any facts or valuable insights.

Yea.. I'm basically just contemplating all potential outcomes and the longer this goes without clarity the worse I feel.
Also, you nailed it last night when you called the blowout.
This is fair. I bought the optimism because some pretty decent sources seemed to have confidence things would be resolved positively for some players. They were clearly mistaken that the hearings were going to be resolved ASAP, likely because they misinterpreted what "quickly" meant.
But ND, in general, is not approaching this like we're going to have a happy ending. Maybe some players will be reinstated, but at this point I'd definitely bet on vacated wins... and another painful press conference or two. This is just completely unfounded speculation based on more unverifiable junk you read places.

It's not a "student council" per se. The "honesty committee" (in this case the College of Arts and Letters honesty committee) is made up of both faculty and students. They decide outcome and punishment for the players, but have no say when it comes to vacating wins. I'm sure the university doesn't want to risk announcing "we're vacating wins," only to have the honesty committee (which apparently hasn't voted yet) announce "players are innocent of wrongdoing." The people that make the "vacate wins" decision (Jenkins/Swarbrick) aren't the same ones who rule on the players and it would be incongruous if the decisions didn't match. Not following the vacated wins thoughts. The investigation is over. If the administration wanted to vacate wins, wouldn't they know that by now? Student council is to decide punishment, not outcome, or am I getting this wrong?
