Agree with Johannes. Kelly was stunned at what he had inherited. A fairly talented team that had a losing mindset. He was seriously stunned by the team's play that day, then lost it because he couldn't handle the cognitive dissonance between what he saw on the practice field and what he saw on the field that day.

He's been a cool customer since then with the occasional irritated yell but after that day, he realized the cameras are always on the coach at ND.

So glad we hired him almost 5 years ago. He's really helped bring this program back from it's lowest point in history.

Haters just gonna hate. I don't give two shits what Michigan fans, Hoke, Brandon et al think. The players have served enough time. Should have been cleared up long ago. They can suck my Irish (and Scottish) prick.

I agree with you guys. I think Kelly's meltdown that day was the first clue as to just how good he thought the team could actually be. I remember he was very confident heading into that 2011 season, almost with the "ain't worried 'bout nothin' " attitude... and then they inexplicably sh*t the bed in the first game of the season.

I think he was just as flabbergasted as we all were at how mentally weak parts of that squad were, especially since he was around them all the time. He knew he had something special on his hands... and then lost his composure when bizzaro ND began.

Dude on the right ran for 7800 yards at Page HS in Arizona and will be a RB at BYU next year after his mission. He ain't no punk.
