I have to be frank. I'm really pissed off at how Notre Dame is handling this situation. They've pretty much botched this from the start. Just ridiculous at how badly they've overreacted to this. People want to say that the media is blowing this out of proportion (which I agree they are), but ND is at fault for making this a bigger deal than it actually is.
Secondly, if there isn't any concrete evidence that these 4 are in fact guilty, then why are they being pulled from practice? Is that really necessary? It only gives the media more ammunition, and pretty much sparked the speculation to begin with.
That being said, I'm with Koon on what he said earlier. Those guys fates need to be...no...BETTER be determined by the time classes begin. I wasn't expecting there to be a concrete decision past a weekend, as there is a lot of digging the university has to do I guess (though the fact that they need to go through YEARS of emails seems rather excessive). That being said, if their fates aren't decided by the time the Rice game comes around, it just makes them look worse.
It's time for them to put up or shut up. You created this whole debacle, you fix it.
Just to be clear, I'm not mad at ND for upholding the codes of academic integrity, but the way they handled the PR and media side of the issue is just flat out atrocious.
