Phillip Daniels tweeted something like "ND kills dreams"

Just a bit out of line, IMO. Your boy isn't a saint, let's be real about that.

He's a parent. Some of us are freaking out over the time frame as it is... imagine this is your child ...

If my kid is innocent, AND I KNOW IT, I'm incredibly pissed. Now that's a big if right now, but this is messing with his future degree, future reputation, future earning potential, etc.. IMO PD has not crossed any lines. I hope DD is innocent, and comes back, but you have to worry about recruiting ramifications either way.

If this starts to be dragged out in the public arena(Daniels tweets) it will make ND look bad(worse) and it will hurt the program. This could turn ugly quickly.

Just decide something, anything, it seems like everyone is in the dark except the dean.

I wonder if espn has reached out to him or any of the other parents to do an interview? I would imagine that would light a little bit of a fire under the admin. Bad PR for the school and the football team. No way an investigation/resolution should take this long.

EXACTLY! However, I think in his case he needs to realize his son already has a check mark on the his record and understand they are going to investigate him even more thoroughly. IF they know for sure innocence has been proven, then this is a huge waste of time.

ND should look terrible because of this.

we probably have ray rice and roger goodell to thank for espn not having already run an Outside the Lines on this situation

100% behind anything Phillip Daniels wants to tweet along those lines and I don't blame him for a second. If they're found not guilty and they've fucked with his son's chances of positioning himself for his dream, the NFL, fire away and I'll back it all.

I'm sure Phillips Daniels feels so much better knowing you'll be there to back him.....

I don't blame Philip Daniels at all. He's been mild-mannered through this but we are moving towards a month of silence and we were told the digging had concluded two weeks ago.

I understand that things move slower in academia and the university won't bend it's knee to anyone but let's also be fair about what this is doing to our players:

Those who are guilty wouldn't have played anyway.
Those who aren't guilty or committed minor infractions are being held out of competition that could've determined their earning potential within the next 8-10 months.

If ND doesn't appear to have it's student's best interest at heart by considering all of the effects this slow process is having, I wouldn't be surprised if this has an adverse effect on recruiting.

And I'm not giving guilty parties a free pass, I'm saying it's dishonorable to leave a person in jail while deliberating for an excessive amount of time.

I'll hold out hope there is some magical explanation that makes all of this look much better.

I don't want to act like this will have a major impact but minor things can fester and each day that passes makes this feel worse.

Let's hope the university is nearing the completion of it's dig because this is bordering on the preposterous if it turns out some were only guilty of minor infractions or would've only served 1-2 game suspension.

There hasn't been enough posts demanding the administration to hurry up and decide. One more and it just might be enough.

The fact most of them are juniors or seniors and would have likely declared for the draft after this season makes it worse. If we were dealing with sophomores or juniors who were not looking at a possible 1st round pick after this year then missing 2-3 games this year would not have much impact on their future earnings. But Davaris and Ishaq could have improved their draft stocks after this year and Kei could have definitely been an AA and top 15 pick if he balled out like we know he can. A decision needs to be made!

I'd be shocked if this has any negative impact on Notre Dame's public image outside of the most hardcore fans. Most people don't care because very few follow a team as closely as we all do. They don't watch press conferences or read what Tom Mendoza and Philip Daniels say on Twitter. How many of you can name the current status of any of the players Strong suspended at UT? Probably not many. So whether this is an appropriate amount of time or not, assigning some kind of larger consequence beyond whether these guys play against Purdue seems overboard.

I'll concede that point as it pertains to public opinion but make no mistake, this will be used by other coaching staffs.

I'm sure fans aren't watching that closely, but guess who is...the media. Once they get fuel (like Pops tweet) they'll run with it. Then it becomes more national, and we all know how people like to negatively jump on bandwagon vs. ND...so I do see where people say this could blow up if not resolved soon. You can bet coaches will use it in a negative recruitment against ND as well.
Put this thing to rest already!

Recruits pay attention and our recruiting competitors also will love to point this out to our targets I'm sure

How does that conversation go?

Saban: If you cheat, Notre Dame will take a long time to punish you.
Recruit: Screw that.

We weren't getting that recruit anyways.

They can talk about how ND will hunt ways to get you in trouble. That's probably not what happened, but recruits will believe anything.

Considering what, 80% of college students cheat? Even the good ones? That's a scary thought IMO.

The good ones are smart enough not to get caught.
