My wife and I just watched Clambake the other night. I guess she and Elvis were platonic friends until his death.

Great show. Didn't get to catch it often, but it was my go to on sick days, and when I had mono it got binged. The trio of Nelson, Jerry Van Dyke, and "Sponge Bob Patrick" Dauber were good together.
RIP Shelley Fabares.

Have visited her hometown of Sevierville, TN on many occasions. From Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg, that was Dolly City. Huge loss for such a wonderful and talented performer.
We were just there a month ago. She was a legend. A kind, generous person that kept in touch with where she came from more than most celebs.

Its an amazing area that will surely be hurting by this news. She did so much for so many and was a beautiful soul.
I love that all of her attractions are largely patriotic and her image can be seen everywhere you drive from Sevierville to Gatlinburg. Very sad and you are right my friend, a true legend has passed.

Cannot overstate how much Dolly meant to the state of Tennessee and especially East TN. Truly a one of one. Legendary songwriter, legendary smokeshow, legendary kind soul. Her philanthropy for literacy was amazing.
I'm sure there are others, but I'm having a hard time thinking of any... There are very, very few who live in the spotlight for as long as she did and stay beloved by just about everyone as she did. Country, Rock, Latino, Black America, Male, Female,... everyone is nodding their cap today,...

This sucks. What an amazing human Dolly was.

I am gonna be in Nashville all next week on business. Might be an interesting trip.

A few weeks back they changed the children’s hospital in Knoxville to add her name. She had always been a huge donor. It was one of the last public events she took part in. I’m glad she got to see such a thank you for her kind heart.

Didn't she earn like $650 million and gave over $500 million of it away? Truly a legend in every sense of the word and a saint.

I saw a few tweets that said her estimated net worth at death was $650 million despite giving away $500 million. Thus, she could’ve been a billionaire had she not done that.

Definitely a very generous person.
