Saturday marked the fourth night of relative calm for the St. Louis suburb following nightly spasms of unrest since Michael Brown, 18, was shot by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson on Aug. 9. The area's main street was open to traffic and police presence was down sharply from just 24 hours earlier.

Shortly before midnight, police arrested three people, leading to some tension that soon abated.

It would be a bigger deal if it was a constant thing. Multiple unarmed black people have been shot since Brown died, while black cops shooting white unarmed people is rare. Another reason why it's less of a big deal is because there is video, so the truth will come out either way. Cops can't cover it up. They probably filed a police report too.

Just read the article. Found this little gem:

This from a man who knows first hand how heavy-handed the police can be, who's own daughter was gunned down by an overzealous officer.

Kelly Simons — a suspect in a series of armed robberies — was killed by an officer when she tried to run him down with her pickup during an attempt to arrest her.

Oh...

I have no doubt that there are some out of line, racist, bigoted cops out there. In the same way, I have no doubt that there are those who will point the finger at "good" cops due to the failures of a family member, a neighbor, or even just someone of the same race.

It goes both ways. Even if, in a perfect world, all cops were good, and all killings were justified, there would still be killings. There are still bad people, that do bad things, that step over that line and have their lives taken. Why do we not talk about THAT accountability?

On my phone, but think I saw something that said Brown's accomplice in the robbery just admitted that Brown not only attacked the officer, but also went for his gun.

Anybody else see this? Is it legit?

One thing I did find while searching was that Johnson's credibility has taken major hits. He's already been convicted of lying to the police.

And of course his lawyers said that. How long would he last in that neighborhood if it was released to the world that he snitched? Now, I don't believe he did, but what else are his lawyers going to say?

Don Lemon, CNN just played an alledged 12 second audio of the Wilson shooting claimed to be a phone conversation recorded during the incident. There are two distinct volley of shots in the background, the first was about 6 shots (my count) then about 4 seconds later there are 4 more shots. According to the reporter the FBI has interviewed the man, a local resident, who made the recording. He was not identified in the report. His lawyer, Lopa Blumenthal, claims the recorder has requested anonymity.

Lemon had commentary from 3 people about the tape.

An attorney, Chris ?, claimed the audiotape shows there was no confrontation before the shooting.

A former marshall claims it shows that Wilson had time to think between the two volleys, raising a question about the need for the second volley.

Van Jones commented about the pause being significant but noted "in fairness" it could also mean that Brown continued to advance or that Wilson could have felt that he was.
