Unrelated but interesting that the other cop shooting around that time, this video that clearly shows him being murdered didn't get the grand jury to indict. With it being this obvious, with Crawford clearly not hearing the cops and being shot within a second in an open carry state, it's obvious Wilson won't get indicted.

Police officer shot in Ferguson, Missouri - CBS News
9/27/14

A Ferguson, Mo., police officer was shot Saturday night, St. Louis County law enforcement officials confirmed to CBS affiliate KMOV.

Officials say the officer was shot in the arm while on routine patrol and interrupted a burglary in progress at a business. KMOV reports the officer is expected to be okay. But police say the suspect, a slender African-American man with dreadlocks, fled on foot and is still at large. Police have closed roads in the area as they search for the suspect.

The officer's condition was not released, but he was removed from the scene and taken to an area hospital.

Ferguson police officer shot in arm after interrupting attempted burglary | KMOV.com St. Louis
927/14

St. Louis County Police reported a male police officer from Ferguson was doing routine patrol when he interrupted a burglary at a business. The officer was shot in the bicep and is expected to be okay, however, an official condition has not been released.
"[The suspect] returned with fire and the officer was able to block it with his arm," said St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar, "The officer said he was able to get a couple of shots off. We have no indication that [the suspect] was shot."
Belmar said detectives were working to piece together the information and that he didn't believe the shooting was in any way connected to protest for Michael Brown.
Officers described the suspect as a slender, black man with dredlocks. West Florissant Road from I-270 to Chambers has been closed as police search for suspects. Reports indicate the suspect fled on foot. K9 officers and police helicopters are canvassing the area.
A police staging area has been set-up around the area of West Florissant and Stein. Multiple police departments are responding to the scene. The shooting happened around 9 p.m. Saturday.

Another black kid in St. Louis murdered by a cop. This one was off-duty and shot him 16 times.

You seem to be short on details, such as, there was 3 young men, at least one armed, who fired three shots at the uniformed policeman. A 9 mm was recovered. Two at large.

Off-duty officer shoots, kills man in St. Louis - CNN.com

Started with a pedestrian check
The officer, a six-year veteran of the force, was working a second job for a security company, one that was approved by his department. He had on his police uniform.
The suspect was one of three African-American males,
While on patrol, the officer observed three black males who ran away as he approached.
He gave chase, because one of theem was holding up his pants in a way that made the officer believe the teen may be carrying a gun, Dotson said.
The two tussled. The teen started to run off but then turned around and fired at least three shots at the officer, Dotson said.
The officer returned fire, killing the teen.
Police recovered a 9mm handgun. And Dotson said the teen was "no stranger to law enforcement." He didn't however into details, citing privacy concerns.
The two other suspects have not been apprehended.

REPORT: Missouri Authorities Planning for Riots if Ferguson Officer Not Indicted « CBS St. Louis

October 8, 2014 10:26 AM

Missouri officials are reportedly planning for possible riots if a Ferguson police officer is not indicted in the death of an 18-year-old African-American.
Reuters reports that state authorities are meeting two to three times a week to draw up contingency plans in case of riots if Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson is not charged in the Aug. 9 shooting death of Michael Brown. A grand jury is expected to decide next month whether Wilson will face criminal charges.

Has this been confirmed? It's reported he fired AT HIM 17 times, but unaware how many hit. I'll admit, that seems excessive, but for the sake of not starting a massive debate, I'll just wait until all the details have been released. Bottom line: Shooting someone 17 times vs firing the weapon 17 times may be entirely different things once they release how many actually hit. I'm not a law enforcement officer so I do not know the protocol here, so again, I'm withholding judgment for the time being.

Title also neglected to note the young man slain in a shootout with the cop. He tends to the sensational, with glittering generalities, and lack of attribution.

Cops also said Darren Wilson had his face beat in and that John Crawford was pointing his toy gun at people and "loading it".

Every witness says he wasn't armed. I do not believe he was armed.

Are we talking about the same incident here? Everything I'm reading says the "victim" shot at the police officer and a gun was recovered. Granted, it wouldn't be the first time a crime scene had been staged. But at this point, this is all we have to go on. What witnesses are you referring to?

Ballistic evidence recovered from the scene indicates that the man fired three rounds at the officer before his weapon jammed, Dotson said, adding that the gun was also recovered.

I'm guessing he's refering to this statement:

“He was unarmed,” the victim’s cousin told the newspaper. “He had a sandwich in his hand, and they thought it was a gun. It’s like Michael Brown all over again.”

It was the cop's fault when Eric Garner and John Crawford were killed. It was probably the cop's fault when Michael Brown was killed. It was the cop's fault when the toddler's face was blown off. It was the cop's fault when the man in South Carolina was shot. It was the cop's fault when DeShawn Currie was pepper-sprayed in his own home this week.

There's a trend of cops abusing their power. This guy was doing a "pedestrian check" when he was off duty.

If we're making sweeping generalizations, I guess it's OK for me to assume that if I see a group of African Americans, they're obviously violent and want to kick my white ass?

Better disburse those protests. Those people are obviously violent.

No that's stupid. Those are St. Louis police in that one, and police aren't a race. People choose to be cops. People don't choose to be black. That's an awful analogy.

You're literally comparing a police force of a small number who were likely trained by the same people and chose to be cops to a race of millions. Haha.

Same police department that said Kajieme Powell lunged at them with a knife when the video clearly showed he didn't and killed two men in a car that didn't move, even though they said the car was trying to run them over. STL PD are pathological liars.

Amid weekend of protests, 'world is watching' Ferguson

Yamiche Alcindor, USA TODAY 3:57 a.m. EDT October 11, 2014

Hundreds of demonstrators peacefully kicked off a holiday weekend of protests dubbed "Ferguson October."

Late Friday, people marched outside the office of St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch, confronted officers at the Ferguson police station and gathered nearby the scenes where two 18-year-olds, Michael Brown and Vonderrit Myers Jr., were fatally shot by police nearly two months apart.

Protesters from all over the country joined locals in what they said was an effort to show the national impact of both teens' deaths. Throughout the day, emotions ran high but violence, rioting and looting were avoided.

Cops said Vonderrit Myers jumped out of bushes to ambush the officer, but there are no bushes on the street he was shot on. Cops are clearly lying about all of this, just like Ferguson.

Still waiting to here what a "pedestrian check" is by an off-duty cop. Sounds like police state garbage. If Myers actually had a gun, which he didn't obviously, he could have "stood his ground" and saved his life.
