Only in my dreams would I be able to attend ND. I was commissioned under the limited duty officer program in the Navy. It is one of the few was to go from enlisted to officer.

Ah. My brother used to be the XO of the NROTC Battalion at ND, before he got a job in the MBA program.

I was, and have always been (well, almost always) a gentleman. We had good clean fun.

And nothing BUT good clean fun.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. She'll corroborate.

Seriously – she was a good friend and classmate I enjoyed knowing and company I valued. Neither of us had "steadies" so it seemed to me the perfect way for us to enjoy a night of pageantry.

No motel rooms; no booze. No "this and that." There was the traditional all night party (it may even have been at my house that year) followed by a drive from Orlando to Daytona for sunrise. Subsequent naps in the sun generally resulted in severe sunburns.

I know but all of the windows are natural wood (not just the trim, the windows themselves) and painting all of them would be remarkably tedious. We'll be looking to buy something bigger in a couple of years anyways.
