I've never actually had Panda Express, so I was excited to hear that it might be next in coming to our Student Union. Apparently Chic-Fil-A "isn't out of the running to be the next chain brought in," but we all know how that goes.

I try not to eat on campus often, since I work here and it would be easy to just give them my paycheck right back by paying for their over-priced food, but I've been to Steak 'N Shake like three times since it opened two weeks ago. The Steak Burger is hot hot fire.

Maybe it's just different out there? PE doesn't taste that great, they never actually fill your plate like every other Chinese take out does and it's always the most expensive option for that style food....

It's not always the most expensive for me, but you're right that the flavor is lacking.

One of these right across the street too... been there once, pretty good.

I love their chili, and the shakes aren't that bad either. Cheap burger combos ftw

Bar Louie is a go-to for my wife and I on date night, if it's the same chain that you're talking about.

I can go eat a delicious breakfast burger and drink good beer, and then go upstairs to see a movie at the theater that's in the same complex.

For real. There has to be good-manners-brain-washing in their training video, because they are ALWAYS extremely polite. Like, they never have bad days working at Chic-Fil-A.

Also, my campus had a "vote" to add a chain restaurant to our Student Union to go along with the generic Chartwells places. Chic-Fil-A won in a landslide, like 70% of the votes, to 25% for Skyline, to 5% for Panda Express.

Guess which chain wasn't added to campus for fear of starting a riot among certain student groups?

when i was in college my student union banned coca cola products from campus because some folks believed coca cola had hired assassins to murder some labor union reps in Colombia lol

On block 1, I run a rotation between the three depending on mood. All I think are good food, I usually tend towards Potbelly most frequently.

On block 2, I never get anything by Chipotle. Jimmy Johns is OK, but bland. Subway uses HORRIBLE quality food. Five Guys could be justified, but there are so many burger places out here that I like better and I can't eat burgers every day.

IMO, any answer is correct for block 1. I can understand arguments there in all directions. All the Chipotle haters saying they'd eat Subway/Jimmy Johns over Chipotle either have malfunctioning taste buds or simply enjoy eating poor quality processed meats for some reason.

I think I would take Subway over Chiptole... their shit is that bad compared to just about any other burrito option. I'll take any other sandwich place over SW but at times you can get their footlong Italian for less than half the price of the small Italian at Mikes' or Firehouse so yeah...

On a similar note: Little Ceasars sucks but I'll take it over say, Papa Johns from time to time when their pepperoni is five dollars and PJs is More than double... not always, I'll eat at Mortons and pay way more than I normally would on occasion for example, but sometimes, value matters.

Wait, people are talking about eating like this every day? I took it to mean "crap you eat when you're running from Best Buy to the grocery store and don't have time for a real meal." I didn't think it was like a daily routine lunch kind of thing.

Subway isn't even cheap, that's the worst part. It's not just for the poors, it's for the stupids and the lazies. "For the poors" worked when they had $5 footlongs but those sandwiches are all $7 to $8 now.
