Literally how? Aren't there Pokemon you only get if you go to Nintendo press events? Seems impossible for a kid to do.

I collected all 151 on the Blue version.

I had a friend that had the Red version, so we traded all of the Red/Blue exclusives to each other, as well as those that only evolved when traded.

To top it off, he had been told about the glitch that lets you catch Mew legitimately through word of mouth back before it was confirmed on the internet. So while kids were trying to do all of the fake "secrets" or using Gamesharks to get Mew, we had him from the start without needing cheat cartridges or codes from Nintendo.

Yeah, we didn't have "hipsters" back in '07-'08, or at least not a term for them yet, but someone who would identify as "hipster" today brought their Gameboy color to homeroom one day.

Over the next week, everyone found their old Gameboys and brought Pokemon back.

I still had my velcro carrier and my purple Gameboy color, complete with Worm Light and link-cable, so we had some intense tournaments going on.

I sold all of my Pokemon cards back in 6th or 7th grade when I realized I was "growing out of it" (Ha I was just fooling myself. The nerd is always within you.)

It hurt my heart when I got on Amazon and discovered how much money you can get for a collection comparable to what I had.

I DID keep my old Gameboys tucked away in a shoebox. I got lucky in that regard.

A few thoughts I had while walking through my neighborhood to look for Pokemon:

1. The government has set this up as an elaborate ploy to track the movements of every nerd in the country.

2. How long until the first "I lost so much weight looking for Pokemon!" and/or the first "Pokemon Go helped me get my life together" feel-good story? I say two months.

3. My neighborhood suuuuucks. I walked for a half hour to test the game out and had only two encounters. Gonna save my Incense for when I go out somewhere good.

4. I need to brush up on my Pokemon silhouettes. I thought I was marching to the top of the hill my neighborhood is situated on and then traversing through the field at the top for a chance at a Moltres. I was so jacked up, and I thought to myself, "yeah, a secluded field on top of a massive hill that overlooks a big city is the perfect place for a legendary bird!"

It was a fuckin' Fearow.

I was thinking more along the lines of how long until a headline titled "Man killed by car after walking into traffic looking for Pokemon on phone?" I give that 2 weeks.
