If something awful happens and we miss the playoffs are they even going to have bowl games this year? I know they’re meaningless compared to then playoffs but is it literally playoffs or bust for us?

Good question. Most bowl games are basically local chamber of commerce promotions to draw tourists to town and get them to spend tons of money on hotels, food, and etc. If you can only put 25% of the usual amount of fans into the stadium, where's the payoff for the community? I think a lot of the smaller bowls may take a pass this year,

USC has conducted back to back virtual practices because two players tested positive and another showed symptoms today.

OSU has a positive earlier this week, some talk about the game against Illinois being canceled but I doubt it.

It’s amazing how the bad the PAC 12 and B10 have been handling COVID especially since they had more time to prepare. Also because their states have some of the more stricter restrictions because of COVID.

But none of them have been cancelled. There are now even more Bowl games than ever.

Many of the Bowls are actually owned by ESPN. They must be kicking in just enough $ to keep the games alive.

OSU will make the game happen no matter what this weekend.

The biggest eff you of all time would be if Michigan pulled a FSU and cancelled their game at the end of the season, effectively screwing OSU out of a playoff spot.

I would actually love that so hard. As long as it gets Cincinnati in or something like that.

Is there even a min cap on games? Didn't think there was. I think even a 6-0 + B10-C would get them in.

USC’s game against Colorado canceled. Might sound strange but I thought USC had the best chance of the PAC12 to make a playoffs bid. If they won out they’d have an impressive win over Oregon, while if Oregon won out they still wouldn’t have any signature wins. Kind of a catch 22, but neither team has much chance anyway.

Bummed we don’t play USC this year cause I think we would threaten 1966 for the biggest win in the rivalry history. Oh well, even if it was still scheduled it probably get cancelled.

Imagining an Alabama, ND, Northwestern, Cincinnati playoff warms my heart.

Yeah I looked again, and the B1G is requiring a minimum of 6 games to play in CCG, IF the conference as a whole averages 6+ games per team.

*is there any way ND plays Wake if Clemson slithers out of the FSU game? I mean the conference would have to see how messed up it is to make one team play a makeup, and absolve another from the same thing .

I would fully expect B1G to find a way to get OSU in the CCG even if they only play 5 games. With the schedule being as easy as it is, it seems like the B1G has been OSU or bust and then hope some other teams show up and look decent.

We going to the playoffs boys and the only team we would have a hard time beating is Bama. OSU is good but our defense will stifle Fields.

Let's Fucking go.

So does ND or Clemson get anything out of playing the ACCCG other than being named champ? Seems like it would be best for Clemson to get covid and not play the game and share the ACC ship with ND and both teams walk into the playoffs. Am I wrong on this?

We beat them so without a rematch they can’t share the ACC ship especially if we finish 11-0 and they are 10-1
I believe we are in the CFP with a close loss but Clemson would be out with a second loss. Seems Clemson has more to lose IMO

I'll believe it when I see it. Their defense is suspect, but they have more talent than we do. If there was ever a wacky year to make it happen, this is the year though. #2 has won the last 4+ championships or something.

Michigan’s only victory would be playing the COVID card and sticking it to OSU. That would be fantastically entertaining.

Harbaugh has a great chance to get a big victory by pissing off all of Ohio. Hope he takes it.

From what I hear I think the next weeks game would be cancelled too wouldn’t it? If so I highly doubt they can be 6-0 without a championship and make the playoffs. That would be really f*cked up if they do that just because of the name brand

honestly I wouldn't be surprised at all.
IMO, they'll figure out a way, even if it means rescheduling and pushing back the B10-C

We all know that they are a top 4 team but how can the committee justify putting them in over like us if we were to lose to Clemson or keeping Florida or a&m out
