I love how ND was 3-0 and you all were bitching like ND was 1-2 and lost to an 0-3 ODU team.

Yeah honestly this game I'm not worried about as much as I was. Old Dominion threw all over the field on them. With a QB who was 5 foot 11 .

I am pleased with this development out of Blacksburg. I was fully expecting to walk into a hornets nest. Book's performance had me feeling we had a chance to survive but this loss plus two key players gone has me thinking they might give up football by the time we get to town. Has to knock down the opening hype level a good 50% for those fans with a quick path to taking the crowd out completely if we execute out of the blocks.

If the game isn't at night the environment won't be half as raucous. It does, however, make the money we spent on that AirBNB seem like a total waste.

Jackson being out is massive. My main worries about this game were the offense we were trying play with Wimbush (fixed, hopefully) and Jackson being an elite QB. The other worry was the environment itself after the debacle in Miami last year. Now, this game is looking no more daunting than the game against Northwestern... a loseable road game, but ND controls their own destiny in terms of "taking care of business."

Honestly with WImbush at QB and their starting QB I had us as probally a 7 point underdog playing them at home. Now with book and their QB out I would put us as a 14 point favorite

I disagree. I think this will be a night game regardless of if VT loses or not.

ND is a ratings gold mine, and a night game in Blacksburg will be a huge draw in and of itself.

There isn't much competition either. Texas-OU and Auburn-Miss State are the only potential Top 25 matchups, and Texas-OU is always played during the day. If it comes down to a top 5-10 ND team v. Virginia Tech and a ranked matchup between Auburn-MSU, I'm willing to bet they pick ND-VT every time.

They're ranked in the Coaches still, not sure how. But if they beat undefeated Duke, there's a strong chance they'd be back in the top 25 in both polls.
