I think losing the DE is bigger news, where ND is concerned. They really like their backup QB. Plus, with Book at QB, the biggest problem a defense can create at this point is early pressure. And although the OL is playing better, arrow certainly pointing up. I think it's still a valid question mark with outside pass rushers and an aggressive DL.

"ESPN has exercised a six-day hold for Clemson at Wake Forest, Florida State at Miami, and Notre Dame at Virginia Tech.

Start times and networks for those games will be determined following the games of Sept. 29. The times and networks held for those three games are 3:30 p.m. on ABC, 3:30 p.m. on ESPN, and 8 p.m. on ABC.

All times are Eastern."

If us or VT lose this week I could easily see us bumped for an undefeated Clemson or Miami-FSU rivalry. If both of us win though I don't see how either of those compete.

It’s not unusual for GameDay to go to the place that isn’t the 8pm ABC game. They’ve done that game in the past with it being a noon kick. VT is going to crack the top 25 but I don’t see them passing up the Texas State Fair and the Red River Rivalry.

Side note, I’m pissed we have to go to Lane at night

This is going to be a big gut check for this team. They're going to have everyone blowing them all week, and are going to face a very rowdy night crowd. The similarities to Miami are not tenuous. This is a test last year's team failed miserably on.

Anyone who doesn't think this is a scary game is just silly. How many times has ND had a let down game. Personally I'm very optimistic, but I won't pretend it's not a huge road game.

If we go in to Blacksburg and deliver a beat down, I will be amazed, in awe, and all aboard the playoff train.

I also noticed Liam Eichenberg taken out but I thought that was just late game, big lead scenario. I hope and pray Alex Bars is able to come back from that injury because he’s an anchor for that line. Also the running back depth chart just got really thin to basically Dexter Williams and Jahmir Smith for the next few weeks (Avery Davis shouldn’t play another snap as a RB, he’s a slot/gadget guy but can’t be a RB when you fumble TWICE and don’t pick up any yardage between the tackles).

It’s a road game so yeah... but besides that I’ve seen nothing from them to get overly worked up about and I see an actually legit defense in our boys. Aside from chasing by shadows with our history, I think we should be good here...
