This Ohio State team looks at this Michigan team and believes they will beat them by as many points as they want on any field in the country. That game is going to be an absolute bloodbath in a few weeks. Now, this Notre Dame team isn't in Ohio State's league, but they have more than enough talent and coaching to beat this Michigan team.

I hope the ND players don't have the same mindset that fans and ND media seem to this week. If they can't beat Michigan, then I'm not sure where the program is these days in comparison to the tippy-top teams in the country. Because I promise you Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma and Ohio State wouldn't sweat Harbaugh's group.

Not all of us are in fear. It won't be a blow out, but we will win. Maybe we should have two threads. One for those that believe the Irish prevail and a second for those that walk the opposite path.

i don't like our lack of ability to make explosive plays on offense. I know they don't have much either, but i feel like if we had this we'd win by double digit's easily. That's how OSU killed them last year. They burnt them in their man to man with explosive playmakers.

we don't have any of those.

That's not true. We DO have playmakers, we just don't have the QB to get it to them.

Probably helped that Haskins didn't get sacked or really even hurried the entire game. I think they ran a ton of crossing routes or slower developing passes and Haskins used the time to hit open receivers on relatively easy throws. Book isn't Haskins and ND receivers aren't what OSU had last year but if the oline plays like OSU did last year, this game is over.

i don't know if we have a take the top off of the defense type of receiver.

nor do we have a HR hitter at Running back like we did the previous 2 years.

i agree we have playmakers, but I don't see the explosive playmakers that i'm referring to i guess.

Well, we have a TE that averaged 12 yds/rec. against UGA and 12.6 on the season. I'd call that explosive. We have a WR that's avg. 14.6 yds/rec which is more than both Black and DPJ. Tony Jones Jr. is avg. 7yds/rush. That's more than any RB on UM's roster and not really that close.

Explosive plays meaning > 20 yards.

we don't have many of those type of playmakers I feel like. most of there big plays are yards after contact or after the catch, which is good, but I'm looking for downfield explosion in the passing game.

Lea is a genius and everyone had been saying as much all year up until the USC game, and most were on board with that through the first half. He's going to dominate Gattis. Michigan will be lucky to score 2 TD's on us.

the weirdest thing about the second half of USC to me was thats usually when Lea's genius really shines through.

Seems like a typical game is a team has some success in first quarter, less in the second, then Lea makes his halftime adjustments and we dominate second half.

USC was near opposite, and by most accounts we didnt make any halftime adjustments.

But we won and thats all that really matters.

In reference to scUM passing like USC.

From BK......"“This one requires, from our perspective, less of a change to our structure than it did preparing for USC.”

Yeah, I suspect to see a lot of base D. Would love to see our pass rushers decide this game early.

Patterson got sacked three times last year. He'll be thinking about that and I wouldn't be surprised to see Lea send the army at the beginning just to get into his head.

My guess is he didn’t really know how to make adjustments to a brand new defense. But we’re running our normal defense against UM and we’ve seen his genius there.

Who did we have last year that took the top off of their defense? Finke on one play? Lol hardly. And their defense last year was deeper/better.

Who broke a huge run last year that really flipped the script in our one TD win over scUM? Dexter was suspended.

We possessed the ball and found ways to score. This offense is built the same, with a more accurate QB and game changing TEs.

Correct, correct and correct. Our fans seem to forget, we’re likely better now than the start of last year and they’re not as good (particularly on defense). I understand it’s there, but I see no reason for this fan base to be freaking out so much. I wonder how bad the ND faithful would be if we had Michigan’s season thus far and them ours. All you’d hear is.... look what happened against Army, Illinois, Wisconsin, etc. all we did is play well against PSU when they relaxed. They only lost to a top tier SEC team......we are so dead!

Personally, I think we win this because Harbaugh has become a distraction. His over the top antics and crazy intensity have to be grating the other coaches. ND has put together a robust structure of leadership that keeps the team focused in practice and game day. Meat chicken not so much. Witness the game with Wisconsin, despite the bye they looked disorganized. Against PSU it took a half to pull things together. If we go out and play our game and stay on script we win this. Oh and Ann Arbor is a whore.

This will be the best defense we face all year. And Michigan's 2nd half offense, on the road, against a crazy fan base, finally clicked.

We'll see how ND fans feel now that the game is in front of us. Michigan was better than PSU in their own house.

What? Better how? Better like they lost? Better like they dropped the game tying ball? Exactly, better how? Best defense all year? These guys are no Georgia. USC would hang 50 on these guys and I mean that. This game simply comes down to coaching. The winner will be the the sideline with the better staff, who has better prepared their team, and has driven the execution factor home. Period. F#(K scUM.

Agree, Georgia’s D is much better than scUM’s.

For the record, F@ck Michigan!

They only stink in terms of production. As in: yes, they have sucked all year, and that's undeniable. But they have a ton of talent, and have shown glimpses of improvement on a weekly basis. That latter part of the PSU game showed how dangerous they are when they just let their WRs make plays. And USC's quick hitting offense was a load for our defense to handle.

The bigger issue is that their defense is good, and well suited to stop an ND offense that is reliant on running the ball right now because the passing game is a disaster. What they are vulnerable to is what Wimbush exploited last year in the first half (as did Ohio State) which is that they leave their guys on an island so you can beat them for big chunk plays. If I thought Book could throw a good deep ball or that Long was capable of doing what PSU did (getting someone like Keys or Lenzy in the slot and attacking their LBs/Safeties) then I'd feel confident... but I don't believe he can do that. I think he's likely to play right into what Michigan likes to do. And Michigan has shown repeatedly that they throttle teams that can't win their 1v1 matchups, and that they get smoked by teams that can. So I understand why Michigan is a small favorite at home, and I think ND is going to need to be uber aggressive to score 20+ points.

Wait, wait, wait. Did I just hear scUM throttles teams? WTF. Are you refering to scout team Rutgers or scout team fighting Illini? I just don't know what team you've been watching all year.

I know that Long hasn't kept Book bottled up this year on purpose waiting for this Michigan game, that would just be ridiculous. But I do believe after the bye week this will be sort of a coming out party for Book. I would not be surprised if Sat night Book puts together his best game of the season in terms of down field passing. 350+ and 3 TD's through the air and 50 on the ground. Maybe it's the kool-aide, but I have a feeling Book balls out Sat night.

If Book does as you preach, then this game is a 3-4 score blow out in favor of the IRISH!
