Tommy Rees trusted a true freshman Corey Robinson to come down with jump balls against maybe the best defense in the country back in the 2013 MSU game. There's no reason that Book shouldn't trust his guys next week.

Shit down the run and force them to throw. Let the guys pin their ears back and get after the QB.
I don't think we have the pass rush you think we do this season.

I think the lack of sacks yesterday was due to ND trying to push the pocket on Cunningham and not letting him scramble.

Pitt will learn nothing from the Louisville game. That might be the best thing about our currently sloppy passing attack. Their coach will know that our O-approach will have a different look and he won't know what it will be. He'll have to prepare to sell out against vs Big Boy football but what else?

... on the other hand, Pitt is always a pain-in-the-a$$.

Maybe it was for total yards. He is now 8th with the DNP yesterday. He's 30th in QB rating.

Pitt's lacking a top RB this year which is making the pass more. Their run game is below average.

Their run game is worse than below average. You’re right, those yards probably are probably short passing yards that compensate for no rush threat. Pickett has a bum ankle but I suspect he’ll be a go for Saturday and have his most efficient day ever.

Narduzzi is watching the ND game film from yesterday and can't get rib of his chubby.

I know Pitt has a stud safety (forget his name). Safe to say their secondary is better than UL’s (who was no slouch BTW)?

Lenzy needs to be ready to run some fly patterns & Austin needs to get deep as well as there’s no doubt Narduzzi will play man w/ his DBs.

Pitt actually has two stud safeties. Paris Ford and Damar Hamlin. Those two safeties might be the best pairing in college football.

Narduzzi had Book confused with a lot of new looks a couple of years ago. I would imagine Rees and Book will review those looks and execution. Narduzzi may need to come up with something else.

This is legitimately the only gameplan you need against Narduzzi lol.

Attack their press with shots down the field. Throw it high and trust your receivers to compete for the ball.

Either you have a Will Fuller that's just gonna blow by them (2015), you're gonna get enough PI calls to make them pay (2013), or your monsters will make enough plays to win (2018).

As long as your defense doesn't lay an egg, you're stressing them enough to make it work.

I tend to agree. Narduzzi showed similar stubbornness in the 2015 game when he insisted on man coverage & Will Fuller continued to score TDs.

Boykin has got to start winning contested passes. Maybe we’ll see Skowronek in some 50/50 plays as well. I believe that was supposed to be one of his attributes.

Yes! I was thinking of Ford but now that you mention Hamlin, I remember him too. Seems like he’s been there forever.

I think it's going to be good for them to get on the road for two games. I expect them to play well.

Redshirt junior tight end Grant Carrigan and redshirt freshman defensive lineman Nate Temple will both miss the remainder of the season after suffering shoulder injuries in Pitt’s Week 5 loss to Boston College.

Carrigan had played in Pitt’s first five games of the season as a backup tight end after spending all of the offseason learning right tackle. He was pressed into service after injuries to projected starter Lucas Krull and backup Kyi Wright.

Temple was a regular member of Pitt’s special teams units and had started the season as the sixth defensive end on Pitt’s depth chart, behind starters Patrick Jones II and Rashad Weaver and backups Deslin Alexandre, Habakkuk Baldonado and John Morgan.

I added up the 129 starts, you should add up all the stars they got. But they're deep and physical. Like I said, they're big. I look at some of the depth chart, I think they have all their freshmen, freshmen year in high school heights and weights. That guy ain't 6'2", he's 6'4". See if Kelly will give us some exact heights and weights on these guys because sometimes they look bigger than the numbers will tell you.

This was my first thought but Avery, Ben, and Javon are still on the depth chart as of whenever it was released. Had they either been the positive or the contact then they wouldn’t be listed at all. With that being said idk the timing of the positive vs the depth chart being released.
