For all you 5-1 tough guys who aren't afraid of SC...

I hope the team you aren't afraid of shows up.

This season is sudden death now. If SC shows up firing on all cylinders, ND will have to do the same or they'll get beat... and they may even get beat then too.

Yep. This feels a bit like 2011. Our first-in-decades night game. We were on a winning streak and riding kind of high. They'd had a disappointing start and were a bit down. They came in, went up big early and won by two scores. One of Lane Kiffin's best games as a coach.
I was sitting basically in front of the USC band and got to watch the song girls do their little victory song sex dances. Fuck those people.

Also happens to be the last time they won in Notre Dame stadium. Let's keep it that way.

I'm scared to death of this game. This is our biggest rival. I don't care how they have played the rest of the season, USC will be ready to play when they get to SB. And it'll be a fight to the finish.

Exactly don't be fooled there is a difference between southern cal and most of the teams we've played-their offense is better than Georgia. This will be the usual tough tough game. Gotta win this one at home and need the fans to be not so hospitable-make it hard on 'em.

2013 game was sweet - quite the home field advantage that night, place was rockin. I think the atmosphere will be fine.

Agree, even when USC (I refuse to call them SC) is down, they are still better than most teams and will be ready for ND. I just hope we duplicate their last visit.

Most will probably sell their tickets to U$C fans.

Darnold is only a hot pick for the NFL next year because of his size.

Wimbush has a higher total QB rating than Darnold presently.

compare the OL situations though. ND is probably top 3 in the nation and USC's is terrible and been hit with injuries

We need to take advantage of that so Darnold doesn't get comfortable. Elko will have some blitzes ready.

https://reignoftroy.com/2017/10/10/usc-injury-report-marlon-tuipulotu-season-1010/

Freshman defensive lineman Marlon Tuipulotu is out for the season after undergoing back surgery. Here’s the USC injury report from Oct. 10.

Another name was added to USC’s season-ending injury list on Tuesday, this time freshman defensive lineman Marlon Tuipulotu.

The freshman defensive lineman had season-ending surgery to fix a back problem which has been bothering him since he arrived on campus, head coach Clay Helton announced after practice.

Tuipulotu has apparently been carrying the injury since before he joined USC this spring. Back issues plagued him throughout spring camp and into the season.

He played against Western Michigan, Stanford and Cal, but missed contests against Texas, Washington State and Oregon State. Having played just three games, he is eligible for a medical redshirt and should retain a year of eligibility despite the injury.

USC Injury Report:

Out for season: K Michael Brown (knee), CB Greg Johnson (shoulder), LB Tayler Katoa (knee), CB Jonathan Lockett (hip), S Isaiah Pola-Mao (shoulder), OL Viane Talamaivao (pectoral), DL Marlon Tuipulotu (back), WR Keyshawn “Pie” Young (hamstring/redshirt)
Out: RB Stephen Carr (foot), OLB Hunter Echols (hip), OLB Porter Gustin (toe/bicep), TE Daniel Imatorbhebhe (hip), OT Nathan Smith (knee)
Questionable: DL Malik Dorton (knee), OL Chuma Edoga (ankle), DL Josh Fatu (knee), DL Rasheem Green (ankle), WR Jalen Greene (concussion), LB Jordan Iosefa (concussion), Damon Johnson (back/concussion)
Probable: WR Deontay Burnett (toe),

Tuipulotu’s absence puts the spotlight on another freshman defensive lineman: Brandon Pili, whose redshirt was burned against Oregon State.

The other big injury news from Tuesday surrounded Daniel Imatorbhebhe and his return to action for the Trojans.

The tight end, who has been sidelined by a hip flexor injury, suited up for practice for the first time in weeks. Though he was a limited participant, it was a clear sign of progress.

The goal now is to get Imatorbhebhe “back in football shape,” Helton said. The target for his return to game action remains Notre Dame next week.

A toe injury did not keep Deontay Burnett out of pads as was feared on Sunday, but the receiver did have his foot heavily wrapped. He was also a limited practice participant.

Meanwhile, right tackle Chuma Edoga sat out of practice as he contends with an ankle injury. He is expected to see action on Wednesday. More about his status for the Utah game will be determined then.

Wide receiver Jalen Greene and linebacker Jordan Iosefa both remained out as they go through concussion protocol.

Running back Stephen Carr did not suit up because of a foot injury which will likely keep him out another week.

So glad Porter is out. That guy scares me. He's a forced fumble waiting to happen.

Darnold has 9 INTs in 6 games this season. He's tied for 3rd for Most Ints in FBS.

Last season Darnold threw 9 picks in 13 games.

USC survives but next week's trip to Notre Dame poses a unique challenge. Pac-12 coaches have told me the physical toll from playing Utah is extreme. An already banged-up USC team must recover, travel and face Notre Dame, which was off this week.

That's not true. That kid was lights out last year. It's not just size, it's his ability to move in the pocket, extend plays, and deliver the ball to his playmakers. You watch - he's going to frustrate the crap out of us next week when we put pressure on him and he escapes the pocket and either scrambles for a first down or finds a receiver downfield.

Now, he's definitely had a subpar year, no doubt. He's got to cut down on the picks or he'll slip out of the first round. And he has definitely lost his mojo. I think ND will get at least one pick against him. But he's got more than just size. Kid can play.

Darnold had 3 fumbles yesterday key is getting pressure on him

Yep. We have to disrupt their offense, and with their line, they're vulnerable to pressure. But when they finally got in a groove in the fourth quarter last night their offense was a frightening thing to behold.

Just win, baby.

Bringing some subway alumni buds up from Dallas, looks like pretty good weather in the forecast.
