Freeman said he had another surgery a few weeks back. No timetable. Though, ND hasn’t officially listed him as out for the year but my guess is it would require a playoff run to see CJ.
I can't remember if it was Pete Sampson or John Brice who said Jagusah appearing in even a playoff run is doubtful in their minds.

Rather shocked he was not asked about Absher. Absher repped there in the spring and is clearly first off the bench.

ND just got hit hard - gotta be USC injury news

7.5/8.0 > 9.5/10.0

RB news was out yesterday. Wouldn’t complain if OL were still out or more

I mean we are a favorite by 12 on Sargarin and 11 on DokterEntropy, independent of injuries. Whales might have just thought 7.5 was great value.

When the math says one team is that much better...hammer it!

I guess I am questioning this to a degree.

If you don’t try you don’t know.

I was thinking about this all of last week. How hard is it to run a Play Action Bootleg, and find Raridon or Faison in the flat?

This play is incredibly difficult to stop in the NFL. I would be shocked if college teams could stop it.

It’s very obvious they don’t trust the interior of the OL to get a push on obvious run downs. It’s been worse than last year even with a “healthier” group up until the Craig injury. J Love’s struggles early in games are a direct result of these 3.

have been begging for bootlegs out of this offense for the better part of 5 years. I feel like they ran it enough with Book and Wimbush, but have barely seen it since.

That bootleg Boise ran for their TD was PERFECT, and defenses would completely sell out to stop Price or Love and CJ would waltz in

Slate Fluker rankings came out. Also have us as around a 10pt favorite on Saturday. They’ve been second most accurate this year behind DokterEntropy and right above Sargarin.

Have they ever had to play us in freezing weather?? I honestly don’t remember
Never, rain yes but not real winter weather. There has been a long standing agreement between Rockne and the USC coach way back when to play in October for nice fall weather so wives can go shopping in Chicago and see the fall colors and when they play out in SoCal it’s November so the wives can go shopping in nice winter weather in Beverly Hills.

Wives SMH…..

Not that I recall. I was at the 1999 game when it poured down rain but I don’t recall it being cold. The weather reflected both teams…shitty. At least ND pulled it out when the Irish recovered a Jarious Jackson fumble in the EZ.
I was there too and it wasn’t cold. I had a T-shirt and shorts on and the rain came down good but I had an awesome pancho my boy Scott buddy felt compelled to buy thank god! Best ND game of my life. Traveled back from LA for that one.

A lot more Notre Dame fans/alums live near Michigan (in Big Ten territory and in the Northeast where there are a lot of Michigan alums) than live near SoCal, though. It's not like it's just people who live in Detroit who have to put up with them, they're everywhere.
I agree USC is bigger in the annals of historic rivalries, but in the bad blood department I think the edge goes to Michigan, is all.
Well the blood will be bad if we don’t win this game. This is our Super Bowl and uscs as well this year. Basically an elimination playoff game.

Michigan is my enemy, USC is a rival
Interesting take. I’m sure IM looks at Ohio state in a much worse way than they look at ND. USC wants to beat ND a lot more than cross town rival ucla.

Alright IE braintrust, you are the DC for this game. What is your game plan?

Keep in mind, "My-AVA" is getting the ball out of his hands very fast. Do you play press coverage on the outside? Consistently throw different blitzes at them? Some man/zone hybrid scheme attempting to drop in throwing lanes? Do you get Ausberry more involved with dime? Or have 3+ safeties?
Same game plan for two years ago at home against Caleb. Three first half INTs.

Think this will be a very pro vs joes game in the gambling world.
Pro side ND (Freeman phenomenal ATS record, weather + injury factor, power rating in ND’s favor).
Joe side U$C ( Joe public loves a touchdown plus ranked underdog, offensive juggernaut vs the publicly perceived poor ND defense, Lincoln Riley a popular coach).

Of course the pros are wrong some of the time so doesn’t mean everything, but usually the right side to be on.
