Kelly said Sheldon Day is playing "off the charts" and that he's not sure if he gets enough credit.

Kelly on CFP rankings: "we won't think much about it at all other than talking about what we need to do and what we need to do better."

BK: Happy with interior of DL. Wants a little more pressure from DE in pass rush situations.

I don't either, he's on pace for 5 sacks and 17 TFL's over a 13 game season.

Might consider giving other players some run time then. He knows what he has with Romeo and its not getting better in pass rush situations. Hopefully we can continue to see Trumbetti get more snaps like last weekend.

SO no mention of Farley getting any PT this week? Did I understand that correct?

I think on Sunday or Monday BK said that Farley and Redfield are getting the starts at the Safety positions, with Shumate coming in after his half suspension. They also mentioned there were no major injuries among the guys that got dinged on Saturday, which was good news.

I see you returned the favor by beating me this time :) I was too busy stuffing my face with leftover Halloween candy in the office.

Did Anyone ask about Sheldon Day's apparent arm injury? Seemed to really being favoring it late in the game.

I saw that too - was freaking out thinking torn pectoral muscle out for the year type of freakout.

But...

BK said he got a clean injury report coming out of the Temple game. Noting Day.

Injury-free games are almost as good as getting the W. Remember when we played Pitt and Tuitt got a nonsensical targeting call? Damn, I want ND to have its own independent refs. So tired of opponent refs at every game, home and away.

Technically that's not always true. I think typically we have ACC refs at away games on the field, and then ACC in the replay booth at home. I'm not sure why, but the announcers for the Temple game said the AAC were on the field, not sure why that was changed. Of course, when we're facing an ACC team, whether it's home or away, that's not really a great situation.

I agree, it would be nice if we had our own Independent refs, but we'd never hear the end of it. Even if the refs called a game in favor of the opponent, people would cry about the special treatment. I've seen on two different boards where "Referee Sheamus O'Malley" made a call in favor of us. People still hate the Irish in this country I guess.

Forget style points, I would take a 15 point victory over Pitt any day.

I hope the players are ready for a noon kickoff, after all these prime time games they might not be as pumped for an early one

FEI predicts a 15 point Irish victory:

Would be nice, but I just don't see it. Not against Pitt in Heinz. I'm thinking 7-10 pt victory with game never no being "in hand", but never quite pulling away. Predicting virtually ZERO reps for the 2s, sadly.

I'm unfortunately going to be working during this game. Is there an app or something I can use to watch the game on my cellphone?

Probably Watch ESPN since it is going to be on ABC. If it's not on that, I don't know if it will be on anything.

Yeah, WatchESPN would be your best bet as long as you can authenticate with a qualifying TV provider login.

There's already a number of 2's or 3's that have been starting and winning for most of the season. I'll be happy to see them win again.

We used MAC refs during Holtz and same complaints were made by fans.they called games using MAC interpretations of the rules. Holtz didn't directly complain in public but he complained.

ND was flagged on the first player of one game for one of the players not having the right height socks as the other players. This was a common occurrence in Div1 games but in THEIR conference it was enforced.

Using ACC refs is the closest ND can come to "neutral" refs. At least playing them five time a season makes ND coaches and players familiar with how ACC refs interpret the rules.

Here's how it's going to go.

Another road game where the opponent plays their ass off because it's ND. We still win, but it won't be pretty or by as much as many would like. Post game analysis on IE will question red zone play calling, why Day is dropping into coverage, why ND can't put anyone away, why BVG can't make adjustments until halftime and of course, the obligatory calling for Schmidt to ride the pine. Then Sunday we move up a spot or two in the polls and we post all of the scenarios which will keep us out of the playoffs.

That's the pre-scripted fan Postbook. Unfortunately those posters don't know how to make in-game, halftime, or post game adjustments to reflect on successful calls or well executed plays, and the score whether ND is winning or not.

So that bodes well for a new ND FG record.
