in reading the wake message board....i am impressed other teams realize what potential we have...especially love that they fear kicking to George Atk and i love this quote from a poster..

Where would ND rank among ACC teams this year?

At least on par with VT and Clemson, I think they are a little better honestly

I don't know about anyone else, but for just one game I would love for Jonas to get at least 20 carries. I want to see what the defense looks like in the 4th qtr after having to tackle this guy for the whole game. This is no knock against Cierre. They're both great. If you grew up on ND football, then you remember how Jerome Bettis would turn what were 5 yd gains (early in the game) into 30-40 yd TD runs in the 4th qtr. That's fun to watch.

Taking my two boys to their first "live" Notre Dame game at Wake. I'm hoping it is a beatdown. Hoping to get my oldest son's attention for motivation (academically and physically).

I'll be there in spirit! Section: Cali Row: couch

Best seat in the house. ;) The beer is cold and plentiful....and you don't get yelled at for standing up. No ushers/lines for the can/people drooling on your shoulder.

I'll be watching from my folks house and my brother (Irishnd31) and his family are coming into town for the ballgame. Should be a good weekend.

I know that "down & distance" is always big, but I believe that Coach sees it as exceptionally big here. He hinted that if we get WF behind schedule, then our linebackers will not be exposed because he can get more DBs on the field.

That comment spoke far louder to me than how it was delivered. He basically is saying [without verbalizing it] that he knows that our LBs don't pass defend well, and maybe we should expect a lot of nickel and dime vs WF. [he also said nothing about their running game--- I assume that he and Diaco don't think it's a big threat.]

I would disagree a little. He has been high on his LB play all season long and talked about them making progress. He is not throwing his LB corps under the bus.

Any coach knows that a LB on a WR is a mismatch, at any level. If you are able to keep them off track then you should be able to substitute accordingly. Also, if we are able to pressure the ball, which we did effectively in the first half of the season, that should change the pressure on your secondary, regardless of down and distance.

Football Gameday - Wake Forest vs. Notre Dame - WAKE FOREST OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE
- Notre Dame will be playing in its smallest venue since 1945. Wake Forest's BB&T Field, with a listed seating capacity of 31,500, is the smallest stadium the Irish have played in since traveling to the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in 1945 and playing in front of a capacity crowd of 23,000.
- If Wake Forest were to equal its all-time record crowd of 37,623 set against North Carolina in 2004, it would still mark the smallest crowd to witness a Notre Dame game since the Irish played in front of 36,700 at the Air Force Academy in 1981.

Found these two tidbits interesting.

Thats because all his incompletions are backward passes. Just kidding but seriously.... we need to figure that out.

i say let the square peg in round hole go and get vertical. i get pissed at the finesse game at the worst times.

I can't believe nobody has said anything about how Kelly mentioned the possibility of a 3 back set during his radio show today...

Wood and Gray on the sides, Riddick in the back?

Screw that--put Atkinson on the back and keep Riddick out of this. Sweeps for dayssss.

Having a big time trashing my Wake Forest friends and family on Facebook :)

Also making an Irish Envy poster for the game. Will be sitting on about the 20 yard line on the right side of the field (Jumbotron end) seven rows up.

Go Irish!

I'm sure I'm a bit late for this but if anyone has any questions, just let me know. I'll be happy to answer anything about Winston Salem or Wake Forest.
