Under. I expect this Notre Dame team, if healthy to improve each week and find leadership.

But Stanford will stagnate and lose leadership?

I don't buy the "ND will improve" argument. Sure we will, but so will our opponents.

I didn't say Stanford will lose leadership. I just think ND has more room to improve.

Watching the replay of the ASU game. They look really good. Big and physical on both sides of the ball.

ND can't let these guys in the red zone. They did this several times in the ASU game. A full backfield with Hogan and Gaffney and 2 OL running block and 7 on the line .

Stanford absolutely tore these guys to pieces for three quarters and executed in every single phase of the game.. They looked a bit tired in the fourth. They had the State QB running for his life most of the game. I must say overall, I was impressed.

Yeah, they looked really good on Saturday. Arizona State showed signs of life late, and they definitely have some playmakers (namely Kelly and Grice), but they were just way overmatched physically. We'll have to come ready to play from the opening kick and avoid falling into a hole early like ASU did, or we'll suffer the same result.

Skov just made a sack on the UW QB where he blitzed past the center before the center got his head up. It looked like he took one step before launching himself horizontal nailing the QB in mid-air before the QB could drop back.

On the next play the UW QB completed a long pass as he got crumpled by another blitzer. Play after that UW scored a rushing TD.

SU's Ty Montgomery returned the K.O. To the UW 20. He had a K.O. Return TD earlier in the game. He has 199 Yds tonight returning kicks.

SU is explosive on both sides of the ball.

ND is going to have to play like they did against ASU but with a lot less errors.

They're so complete it's beautiful. They don't have one area that's an incredible strength, but they don't have a single weakness from the offense to the defense to the KR game.

If it weren't for the refs inexplicably reversing a 4th down conversion by UW, UW would have had a chance to win this game. I'm sure our coaches will be able to find a weakness. Not predicting an Irish victory, but this Stanford team is hardly unbeatable.

uW is taking SU to the wall. UW trails by 3 with 1:15 to play Replay ref ruled a UW 4th down completion hit the ground turning the ball over on downs.

SU wins a battle 31-28

How does that get overturned?

Post game ESPN showed a graphic that Hogan has beaten 6 ranked teams since becoming SU's starter last season.

All ranked teams were in the PAC 12.

Four of the six wins were by less than a TD.

Stanford is the luckiest team in CFB over the last two seasons, and it really isn't close. A lot of very close wins on a lot of controversial calls.

And they still have the gall to bitch about getting stoned 4 times on the goal line in our house.

They got thoroughly outplayed played by Washington, some big plays were the difference. Last year they outplayed Washington, but Washington got the big plays. Guess it all evens out.

I wish we played Stanford before they played Oregon. After our win last night and after watching their play, I think this one has moved to a definitive loss to a toss up. Potential BCS bowl game on the line!

Agreed. And it seems like they never have injury issues.

They struggled with Army, and got gashed by Washington. 490 yards to 280. 30 first downs to 14. Got bailed out with a darn nice but "shouldn't happen" 40 yard TD with 11 seconds before half, a kickoff return for a TD, a Washington turnover on the goal line, a questionable call to stop Washington when they would've been in field goal range, etc.

They're really good, but their offense has issues and their defense isn't as world beater as many think. My concern is with Tommy's ability to attack their style of D. But if the O/D keep improving we'll have a shot. It's not like we're playing Oregon or Alabama or someone who would shred us.

meh. Shaw has done nothing but b*tch and moan about bad calls, phantom whistles, and lucky breaks when we beat him. Tad hypocritical.

This, I guess he does go about it in a round about way (or 'more professional') but he still brings up the goal line play in interviews and states how they would have won the game if the call was the other way...
